It was a success wasn't it? And time flew by so fast as usual. The women enjoyed it, even left Mike's wife teary-eyed..and my Trezelle too. She kept asking me where her Ate Milene ( hope spelling is correct) is. So nice to see old and new faces..and I hope to see more of old and new faces in the months to come. Please do send/share the photos to everyone. P.S: Joy just told me that she felt/smelled Sean's perfume whilst we were eating.
I will deliberately double posts these pictures Florge, I had not noticed you had started this thread, sorry It was a lovely evening great seeing everyone again and great to meet Mike, Chel and the kids after so many years. And really good to get to speak to Joy too. Yeah a definite success!
What a wonderful few hours, it felt like we all knew each other really well. I wished it could have gone on for many days, the Brit-Fil mix of people as well as the kids made it such a great get-together. Chel and I would like to thank everyone who went and we look forward very much to being present at the next one.
Indeed Mike it did feel like that, like a bunch of good old friends getting together after a long time, and the kids were great. I wish mine had been here to join in too.
Yes Jim, I can imagine that you thought about your kids too. When there is such a lovely atmosphere with lots of smiles and laughter, the imagination does run away a little bit. I thought at one moment how great it would be if we could all get together in the Philippines but everyone over there is even more spread out than here in the UK.
It was an absolute pleasure to meet up at Cora, brilliant evening.!! Old and new faces, children running happily around playing, great conversation, outstanding food, but above all a sense of real friendship and mutual respect. The pictures taken by both the official forum paparazzi are of the first order and I reckon they should be collated in an album on the forum somewhere, but we will get to that in future. Sean (Kuya), would have silently revelled in his personal achievement with a certain amount of pride, and the success we are experiencing with the forum is a testament to his vision and memory. And in a way, to me, it felt as he was watching and approving. As soon as I possibly can, I will upload the few pictures we took, but please don't expect them to be of the same quality as the in house paparazzi's..... I enjoyed every minute of it, and look forward to more meets.
I forgot to mention how lovely Ate Cora's food was. From the smell to the tasting. Thank you Ate Cora (shortened from Corazon which is Spanish for "heart"). Ate Cora was telling me that the Spanish came to her region and showed the local people how to cook. Some of the food did look very Spanish. She is a lovely lady.
