I requested statements from my bank because my account is online only. When they arrived they came as just a printout; not proper statements. They have stamped every other page with a very unofficial looking black stamp. The agency said they thought they would be ok but I'm worried. Has anyone else submitted statements like this? I've just read this on another random forum - "Online bank statements are not acceptable for the visa. You either need to get every single page stamped and signed by the bank (and preferably a letter from the bank too), or you need to get the bank to issue official paper statements." Can anyone shed any light please? Has anyone submitted just printed pages?
I had to take mine to the bank (Nationwide) to stamp them. It held our application up for a week or two as I had difficulty getting them done.
Mine aren't signed. Also for some reason they only stamped every other page. I'm not sure if we should submit with them, or if we should delay while I try to get something better.
They should be fine, I just submitted non stamped bank statements (6 months requested from bank) as the bank would not stamp or sign them, they said (Natwest) that they don't do it any more. I was unduly worried about it.
I suppose you could call them originals as I ordered them from the bank when I got cold feet about submitting online statements. The online statements actually look more authentic than the original print outs
Most bank statements are just print outs (little punch holes down the side) and my Natwest ones are on A5 paper, half the size of an A4 sheet. You've nothing to worry about in the bank statement department Lisa.
Ours were bank issued copies. Poorer than the originals. I hadnt kept all of my original bank statements cos they would have sufficed. So I got the re issued ones stamped and signed.
Yes. There is nothing that can be done now. Wait till you get the result. And avoid dwelling on your application right now. The mind can be unkind under such circumstances.
Don't worry about the statements Lisa, yours were stamped by the bank as originals or stamped as authentic copies, mine were not.
Timmers, were yours actual statements? Like month by month? Or a printout of the whole 6 months in one thing?
They were individual monthly bank statements, I don't think it would matter if you have a few A4 print outs as long as they are easy to follow and legible. I assume they are clearly dated and show your expenditure and so on.
