Finally arrived here in Glasgow, Scotland last Nov. 22 and my first reaction is.....its co-co-co-cold! :freezing::freezing::freezing: but I love it! I am enjoying every minute here. Everyone's friendly. Never encountered rude people so far. The jackets I brought with me is sooooo not enough so we went to Breahead Mall yesterday for some puffy jackets and warm boots
Congratulations Majah so happy to hear you have arrived, wish I still lived at home in Scotland I would have invited you both over sadly I am an exile in England these days. It's cold here down south so I can imagine what it is like in Glasgow. I miss Braehead, I used to do most of my shopping there, was very fond of the Sainsbury's store, it's quite a nice shopping mall and in reasonably nice suburb of Glasgow. Hope you have a great time and get some nice cold and sunny weather, much better than the usual wet cold and grey Oh and honestly it's much nicer and more liveable April to August, it can actually get warm
Let me welcome heartily to the Uk.......... You will have to excuse the weather, but there isn't much anyone can do, but invest in warm clothing, until the spring and summer arrive. I will be in Glasgow for a few days in march, and in Edinburgh (Ingliston) at the end of June for work. It would be very nice to meet you both, if it was at all possible. We wish you all the best...!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to the UK Majah Seeing as you found it too cold I will make sure Joy saves her money and avoids getting a jacket in Cebu and waits till she gets here. And I hope that whilst your here you see all the sites you intended to.
Good to hear your news. By all accounts, we are going to have very cold weather in a few weeks - as low as -15C. Scotland is, of course, generally colder than England. Maybe you now need to update the location in your profile?
Welcome to Scotland,..from a true Scotsman ! My wife would now probably class herself as Scottish now as she can speak the lingo better than me ! Don't worry about the cold, my wife felt like that when she arrived 8 years ago, but she still loved to stand outside in the snow and feel it falling on her skin for the first time ever. You will get used to it,...just remember when it gets too cold you can add more clothes,...over in Phils when it gets too hot, you can't take any more clothes off ! If you need a wee chat with her I'm sure she wouldn't mind you befriending her on facebook if you wish ? First few weeks will be a challenge, but I'm sure once the spring comes and the flowers come out you will see Scotland for what it is,...Beautifull !! Jonny
"the midges".... Like getting our own back after getting bitten over and over again in Phils, even after smearing on the 'OFF' lotion,....locals never seem to bother with the mossies. Now the tables are turned,..midges never bother me here. Advise to Yuna ; if you do fancy a walk in the countryside, get someone to point out what nettles are !! My wife walked straight through a big bunch with her scandals on and I thought she was going to faint !! Jonny
Welcome to the UK Majah, gald you're enjoying yourself. It will get colder but I'm sure you've figured out the thermostat controls for the central heating and set it at a nice Philippines temparature! Have you had a fish supper yet? Enjoy exploring the country as well, we have some really nice places to visit.
