Dried fish is a big no-no !! When my wife cooks that, I start cooking roast lamb. She hates the smell of lamb and I hate the smell of dried fish. I do like dilis though with a cold beer. Chelle, have you tried British black pudding ? :wow: or pork pie? :wow:
My wife is eating dried squid these days. It does smell a bit off putting when she is preparing it, but tolerable.
I like the Japanese style of dried squid. Eat straight from the pack, no cooking and no smell. Also very good with ice-cold beer
No it's not Chelle. Quite right. It's worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kuya, you surely must have "enjoyed" the aroma of dried fish frying in the pan ?? If not then Jim is korek, sometime soon it's coming your way. Hehe he
Oh, I remember the smell of it quite well.. "Enjoyed" is not a term I would use to describe my reaction to it
I know what you mean. I have eaten different sorts of dried fish and to me it tastes just like it smells. I've also eaten balut, although I have to say it was a dark night and I was told it's a boiled egg. No too much problem and the taste was OK, but I did mention about it not being like boiled eggs at home. In the morning my wife's sister asked if I wanted to see the eggs I'd eaten the night before and proceeded to crack one open. That was it I'm afraid. Never again. It's not about taste it's more about visual imagery.
