Emily Maitlis (the one with tits), who previously presented Newsnight for the BBC, pointed to the hypocrisy of Lineker being allowed to air his political views on Qatar's human rights record during the World Cup but not issues at home: "Curious that @GaryLineker was free to raise questions about Qatar’s human rights record - with the blessing of the bbc - over the World Cup , but cannot raise questions of human rights in this country if it involves criticism of government policy…" Hehehe... then there's the Chairman Richard Sharp appointed after he gave Boris a a cheap loan... and Alan Sugar telling everyone to vote Tory not breaking the guidelines etc ... What a mess.
They the BBC want him off their budget and he has given them a chance, its been going on for a while now, plus on BBC Radio with Chris Evans going (high earner) Steve Wright (high earner and long in the tooth) Vanessa Feltz and a few more on the sister stations. https://www.prolificnorth.co.uk/new...veals-202122-top-presenter-salaries-list-full
It was so good watching MOTD without the pundits and commentators. I want to see the football not people talking about things. I played football from 12 yo until I was in my 30's and I don't want people waffling on all the time. I hope all of them never return, they get millions for being talking heads and one of them wants to be a politician.
When people watch a match live at a footie grounds there's no commentator, they can see what's happening, likewise on TV do they really need to be talked through a game they are watching for themselves? NO.
On the rare occasions that I watch MOTD I feel aggravated by the sound of the pundits incessant chattering. They do like to hear the sound of their own voices and they seem to adjust the pitch when they interfere with each other's opinion, to the point where one in particular screeches in a shrill castrato noise. That I never, ever, liked Lineker to start off with is a matter for other threads. And the thought of him leaving our TV screens fills my heart with immeasurable joy. I hope he goes to Sky ............... Sport.........
Good riddance to virtue-signalling football pundits: (Seems like others feel the same way as some of us!) https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/oth...p&cvid=4f2d9f26350c498ad73bbf5fc054b860&ei=16
Makes a couple of very good points - If BBC want to be in control, which imho they should, don't use freelancers - don't know why they use them anyway given their cost! And second get rid of those, and there are quite a few, using the BBC as a platform to boost their profile with all this virtue-signalling type behaviour - it's funded by the taxpayer to broadcast not promote "personalities" etc.
He He will keep being a thorn in any TV company's side. He has now acquired an even larger feeling of self entitlement, and due the BBC capitulation he has added a sense of perceived omnipotence over the plebes that pay his salary, via the TV licence, without having the benefit of a choice in the matter. I would not deny him the freedom of expression but I would expect him to be careful in not uttering anything that may regarded to be offensive or injurious.
