We bought a new car last year that had free labor for the 1st 12 months of PMS - We don't use it much but every 4 months we take it to Suzuki and I give them PHP4k. Is this a complete waste of money and our time... I'm sure I could do the basics myself...?
I can be a bit thick sometimes I've been trying to work out what premenstrual syndrome had to do with Suzuki motors Once upon a time a car needed a lot of care during the breaking in period for the first 1000 miles or so, these days I'm not so sure. As long as what needed done was nothing to do with tuning the electronics then yes you could probably do it yourself but I think if I had bought a 'new' car over there I would probably pay for the preventative maintenance schedule and probably stick to dealer servicing just as I would in the UK for the first 100,000 miles.
If the vehicle has a manufacturers warranty and you dont follow the suggested programme of servicing and maintenance and or try and do it yourself you may run into issues (it could be said you caused the issues by meddling) if the vehicle has a malfunction.
Yes I hear what you say but I'm sure the annual service for a car in UK is circa £100... PHP 7000 with expensive mechanic etc... why am I having to shell out PHP 15000!
Your in the PI, not the UK, can't compare the two, if your questioning it don't pay it, it's your cash so your decision
