please help..Im on the process of ILR application for my husband .I would like to ask regarding tenancy agreement. Ours is in periodic term and my copy was 2018, can I use this one. or I need to request a new one for this year? Thanks
Hi Piglet, Am I correct in saying that this a monthly agreement and you've chosen not to renew into a new 12 month contract with your Land Lord/Agency? Edit: Just researched that on that terminology, and yes. I think the 2018 Contract would be suffice because that's the last & only contract you have. Did the agency issue a letter to notify you're now on a rolling contract from 2019 onwards? Personally, I would advise on getting onto a new fixed term contract, or indeed request a newer & update-todate contract if possible. This is stronger evidence of secure accomdation for the case worker.
Hi bigmac thanks for replying..the tenancy agreement I used last time was updated yearly, and since this is a new landlord (2018)but the same address the last tenancy agreement was 2018 and it says in the app online it will be periodic..is that mean it will be rolling ? and I have emailed them twice nil reply ( Do you think it will be okay since I can show them my council tax and bills and letters with me and my husband address on it?
i wouldnt risk it. i needed 6 months tenancy when my fiancee applied in 2015...so i had to renew. if your planning to stay there anyway a new tenancy agreement will give you security. rolling means they can give you 2 months notice to get out.
I agree with @bigmac in the short as it's a new landlord you don't have an agreement,(unless there is a transfer agreement in the small print). For your own security get a new contract
