It was indeed lovely and clear this morning, I thought about scraping the car after I looked out the window and then I looked again and thought again and decided to just turn the heating on in the living room By tomorrow I will probably have to scrape the ice off the inside of the windscreen and then on the outside I will have that horrible melted refrozen impossible to scrape layer I should have gotten out and taken some pics today I might get into town tomorrow, I need some stocks of spices from Mattas as I've run out.
I had an assessment to do on the docks so it was an early start for me 06.00 and it was minus 2 0n the car temp gauge, into the docks meet the candidate, a drive to Runcorn then down the A41 across to Nantwich then Sandbach up the M6 and back to the docks, and the candidate did well and that was my morning. By all accounts I am going to see the Christmas tree in Liverpool 1 tomorrow!
I'll probably park in Liverpool One, expensive and a longish walk for an old unfit man to Bold Street but there are some good shops around Liverpool One that I might want to take a look at including the old Camera shop near Debenhams that has changed hands in the last couple of years. Do they put up a particularly nice tree, I don't remember seeing it in previous years? Makes me more likely to park in L1 rather than in a side street off Bold Street if there is something nice to see down that way.
It’s been pretty cool here. Scraping the ice off both our cars on quite a number of mornings this week. My wife is pretty meticulous about de-icing her car and it normally takes her a good 10 minutes to do just that. I spent sometime in the north of Sweden a few years back. At its peak (trough) it was -30 degrees C. The lakes were frozen over and people drove their cars on them.
Trucks and cars drive regularly on the ice here, saw a school group of juniors plus their teacher skating down the rideau canal and a guy riding a motorbike across the ice a few years ago, first place I ever saw a truck driving across ice was India.
These are my images took today first 2 the pub tree, second two the better tree and last 2 inside the second tree looking up
I wish I had taken the train rather than driving, the city and shops were too busy for me today and I couldn't get what I wanted in M&S and Primark but I did get my other supplies in Mattas. And the traffic was not great in either direction. I agree the second tree looks better and your interior shots are nice.
30 Cm of snow forecast tomorrow, snowstorm coming, there's already huge piles of snow in the shopping area carpark, might get the chance to wear my snowshoes
My friend at work resigned last summer to take up a job in Newfoundland about 1000 miles east of you, it was an opportunity to emigrate for him and his family and it had been an ambition for him even before he joined us about 7 years ago. He's sent me pictures like this from St Johns but he would have preferred the mainland though as St Johns is a bit remote.
