So we got the good news today and got the visa. I have a few questions tho Do we need the original Tb test with her or will a copy of it be fine? Regarding flights can I purchase a flight ticket here in the uk and my wife use that? ( silly question I know)
If they havent returned the original to you yet, it wouldnt seem reasonable for border control to reject a copy. I have read some examples where they dont even ask for it. This said, I am taking originals and would suggest you did the same if possible. I’ve booked my wife’s ticket from the UK. I think there is an “exit fee” she we need to pay at the airport when leaving though. Researching that is next on my to do list. Are you collecting your wife? From MNL? What dates are you looking at? Ill be somewhere between dubai and gatwick during englands first world cup game - the sacrifices we make... Mr G
Sorry I can't answer the first part but I know someone else will . Yes you can book a flight for your wife from Uk . They will send confirmation to her e mail address . Good luck .
They sent it back to us but I sent it out by Royal Mail and the idiot behind the desk chargerd me for tracking and the knob put it as standard delivery. So I can’t teack it. But we did take a photo copy of it just in case. Nope I’ll be meeting her at Manchester airport as much I would love to fly out work won’t let me haha. I’ll be cheering for you don’t worry haha
Dont forget CFO (She wont leave without the sticker in her passport She wont get asked for the TB certificate (My wife carried with her on her flight over (copy of marriage certificate)
You have to work on the basis that the CFO sticker is not a foregone conclusion if she hasn’t done the seminar. And yes, you definitely need it or should I say your other half does. Once my wife got her visa in her passport we checked it to see if it was good (sometimes they make mistakes with dates etc) and then she went for the CFO sticker which she got first time, then we booked the flight from the U.K. (KLM in our case). A one way ticket of course. We allowed a couple of weeks for her to get her belongings together and say her goodbyes etc.
Only seminar she had attended we was getting married so that means there another seminar to attend? She plans to fly soon due to my holiday booked with Work so we can sort every thing out since I can’t get any more time off after next week.
Check with the other guys and girls as things might have changed. Though there was someone just a few weeks back that had an issue with the CFO.... Pork Adobo: http://www.british-filipino.com/index.php?threads/cfo-confusion-and-annoyance.15885/ We were in a similar position with very little time left to take off work. I actually flew to Amsterdam to meet her and flew into Manchester with her. (Coincidentally I met my employer flying to Amsterdam).
Thank you but regarding his issue we should be fine since we was married in the Philippines allready.
At the CFO take her passport and copy of marriage certificate. Make sure she is aware of the town she is going to live in, have you any kids, what you do for a living, these were questions my wife got asked also handy tp have a few photos of you both together
Yes. That’s true, but do be wary about the CFO as they are quite capable of tripping people up. Best to go there prepared. There is a massive thread on them which is worth a look through.
Ahh I didn’t know that but why would we need to prove that again even tho we have the visa that allready shows that?
They are looking for sham marriages etc and that those attending are the people who are leaving. Its nothing to worry about as you say your together it will be fine. Chuck in "are your parents still alive" "have you brothers and sisters" all stuff she will know as a part of a genuine relationship
The CFO make their own independent checks and have nothing to do with UKVI. It is worth having a look at their website to see what they are all about. http://www.cfo.gov.ph/
She’s allready attended that seminar and been asked all these question so we could get married. So she has to redo all that jeez.
dont forget the 30 day travel vingnette--it doesnt give much time for sorting the cfo and the UK flight.
