of course there have but it is quite surprising how nearly all foreigners that get murdered do NOT get murdered in their residences. On a list of 2017's 12 murders and very serious assaults I posted earlier, only one of them occurred in the victim's residence. All the other 11, were somewhere else. if somebody wants to take your flatscreen TV, they have to go to where it is located, and the flatscreen TV is located in your residence. The flatscreen TV never goes anywhere. It stays where it is. The flatscreen TV never leaves the house. but when somebody wants to take your life, unlike with the flatscreen TV, they don't have to go to your house to take it. They can just wait for you to leave the house and kill you somewhere else. And judging by the locations of most murders of foreigners in the Philippines, that is exactly what they normally do.
that's not exactly rocket science is it. Every premeditated murder, everywhere, is because whoever carries out the murder either doesn't like the victim, or who wants something that the victim has, but that the murderer hasn't. as to whether the victim has actually done anything wrong, is another matter completely. this rush to blame-the-victim, which always happens when ever anybody gets topped in the Philippines is really quite tedious. As if anything at all, even for a nano-second ever justifies murder. look at that list of now 12 British people who have been murdered in the Philippines in the past 8 years. Only two of them Moynihan the drug user/dealer and Balmer the sex trafficker and villain, and who was the only one murdered by another foreigner and not by a Filipino, had definitely dangerous lifestyles that must have contributed to their demise.
That is an unfortunate statistic but the Philippines is nowhere near approaching a far more serious "killing field" where, according to the Foreign Office, 1,151 British nationals died between 2014 and 2016. Of those, some 60 deaths are unexplained and suspicious - pointing to a catalogue of police corruption, botched investigations and deliberate cover-ups to protect the highly lucrative tourism sector that annually generates some 10% of the country's GDP. These include Christina Annesley who was found dead on her bed in January 2015; Luke Miller, 26, who was found dead at the bottom of a pool 2016; Nick Pearson, 25, whose body was found in the sea after he disappeared on a night out in 2014; Liam Whitaker, 24, was found hanged in a police cell in 2013; and Andrew Apperley, 38, who disappeared from a party last year. Where is this place? Well, it's your beloved Thailand whose police force is even more corrupt and uncaring (towards foreigners) than the PNP - and that's saying something.
the usual total dishonesty and misrepresentation, from Markham. even leaving aside that there must be about 6-8 times more British people in Thailand at any one time than there is in the Philippines, ALL, or EVERY SINGLE ONE, of the 12 cases in the past 10 years that I have highlighted, have been indisputably murders. Some of the Thai cases mentioned, are indeed in somewhat suspicious circumstances, and I would not deny that. But none, as in zero, of the much fewer number of cases Markham has mentioned above are indisputable murders unlike ALL of the 12 Philippines cases in the past 10 years I have mentioned. British people have been murdered in the past 10 years in Thailand yes. Some of the cases have been highly publicised too, and were especially gruesome. but there is only about as many or even fewer of them, when there should be much more, as in about 6-8 times more, considering the massively larger number of Brits there is in Thailand compared to the Philippines.
Really? More bluster and bullsh1t from you, as usual. Just how much are the Thais paying you to spread misinformation tell lies on their behalf? Unlike you, I have a source to evidence my assertions: You are, yet again, completely wrong. Look at the above picture: Ben Harrington was beaten to death; Hannah Witheridge was raped and then murdered; Kirsty Jones was strangled. I strongly suggest you over-winter in Thailand in future and keep well away from the Philippines.
Let's contrast what is happening in the mainland UK this last week - This week in London has been a week like no other! It has been heart breaking, heart wrenching, devastating, shocking, devastating...you can add your own words. However, just in case some of you may not be fully aware of what's been happening, please let me take you on a 5 day journey. Sunday 1st April 2018 - A 20 yr old man was stabbed to death moments after leaving a bar in Wandsworth and died in the street. Monday 2nd April 2018 - A 17 yr old girl (Tanesha Melbourne-Blake) was shot dead in a drive by shooting in Tottenham. Police found her with a gunshot wound to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Monday 2nd April 2018 - Less than half an hour later, police were alerted to another shooting in Markhouse Road, Walthamstow. They found a 15 yr old boy with stab wounds and a 16 yr old boy with gunshot wounds to his face. Tuesday 3rd April 2018 - The 16 yr old boy died of his injuries. Wednesday 4th April 2018 - A 53 yr old man died at a bookmaker in Clapton following a vicious assault. Wednesday 4th April 2018 - Four hours later an 18 yr old man was stabbed to death in another part of Hackney. Thursday 5th April 2018 - Within a space of 90 minutes, five teenagers and one man were stabbed in London. Three youths were stabbed in an attack in Mile End at 6pm. Police found the victims collapsed at the scene and were hospitalised. Two 15 yr old boys remain in a serious condition. Thursday 5th April 2018 - In a separate incident a 13 yr old boy was seriously wounded after being stabbed in Gainsborough Avenue, Newham shortly after 7pm. Thursday 5th April 2018 - At 7.05pm police found a male in his teens with stab wounds in Ealing Broadway. Thursday 5th April 2018 - Also at 7.05pm a 15 yr old boy was stabbed in West ferry, East India Dock Road. He was not seriously injured. Thursday 5th April 2018 - Earlier on, at 12.50pm a 21 yr old male was stabbed in Billet Road, Walthamstow. Thursday 5th April 2018 - A man in his 40's was also stabbed just after 10pm in Herne Hill. The Philippines by comparison is more peaceful, or is it? However we should not fall into complacency here - what can we do in the Philippines to reduce the death toll?
A week like no other! How about 7th July 2005 and September 2017 at Parson Green! Not to mention the atrocities on London Bridge and the death of a police officer! You do however make some good comments for debate. For me to comment further than the point below would get the thread into the realms of political agenda however, As Trump wants to build a wall, we the UK are an island we should make greater use of that at Border Control. Drugs and social media have a lot to answer for, in my view

what a load of garbage. As I've already explained, the actual numbers of the murders in Thailand, compared to the Philippines, just aren't there. There should be much more of them. But there aren't. Plenty of 'unexplained deaths', but then there are plenty more 'unexplained deaths' in the Philippines, than I've not mentioned too. I've concentrated solely on the actual, 100% , totally undisputed murders in the Philippines, in the past 10 years. it is a sign of Markham's desperation, that he's mentioned Kirsty Jones' murder, which I remember well, having stayed at a hostel in Chiang Mai just down the street a few weeks before it happened - 18, not 10, years ago. also look at the demographic at the Brit Thai murdered. They're almost all youngsters in their 20s. Exactly the sort of demographic who you expect to get murdered anywhere else. UK, France, United States, the most likely people to be murdered, are young. In the Philippines, they are not. Only one, of the British Philippines murder victims in the past 10 years was under 30. In Thailand, almost all of them, were under 30.
Desperation - who? Me?? Absolutely not. I simply repeated what was contained in the caption to the Daily Mail article and neither the paper nor myself state the year in which she lost her life. Obviously that is reflective of the tourists' ages. So what's your point? Asking how much the Thai authorities are paying you seems to have touched a raw nerve.
Nowhere is ever safe and in some countries life is valued differently. I worked in Nigeria in the late 80's, now that was scary. Carry cash, split it on your body, nothing in the back pockets, don't carry credit cards at night, phone in your front pocket, have a spare phone if possible ( I keep leaving them in taxis after too much orange juice ). Most of all, always be aware of your surroundings. Anyway, enough of visiting London.
I deliberately avoided Nigeria. I knew many people that spent time there and heard all the stories. I managed to avoid Nigeria.

My youngest daughter is traveling to Thailand soon...... I tried to dissuade her from doing so, but it has been a waste of time. I am worried......
It's ok , I've been there .There aren't really people running around chasing and shooting at visitors .
That’s good to know. I haven’t been to the island they used in the movie, but have been to Thailand. But it was a good movie and a good soundtrack, Moby Porcelain.
