Haha just Glenn John should be alright. Anyway my prayers are with you both. Think positive. You will get it I know. Look forward to seeing you and your wife in the UK.
Really pleased for you but if I was in your shoes for my own security reasons I wouldn't of put the photo up. Maybe I am over cautious.
I have a question, I'll ask it here, I don't want to make another thread. Anyone here (espcially Filipinos leaving the Philippines) experienced being ask for a credit card by the airline which is used to book the flight? I am booked with Malaysian Airlines this Saturday so I'm not sure if there's a chance they're gonna ask me to show it. Always flown with PAL before and was never asked a credit card from my fiancé. I know the airline reserves the right to ask but how often do they do it?
We have discussed this subject a few times here on the forum, you need to contact the airline to check, you do not want to be refused at check-in. Different airlines have different rules.
Get a photocopy of both sides and get your partner to write a confirmation letter to be safe. In my case I presented my card at Etihad office at MAN airport and they flagged the ticket to show that the card does not have to be presented at check-in at MNL.
Mostly requested by ph airlines (was asked by PAL and ceb pac randomly- nothing to do with origin or destination or airport (t1, t2 or t3). Never been asked by etihad, emirates or qatar. Better confirm with the airline @Brom27
Thank you @Timmers @HaloHalo @Maley I didn't thought about it until a while ago when I checked the email again from Malaysian Airlines and didn't notice their important notice which says: Important notice for security reasons, the following are required upon check-in or ticket issuance. Failure to produce these documents may result in denied boarding: Photocopy or actual credit/debit card used for the online purchase(s). Photocopy or original photo ID of the credit/debit cardholder. I'll just tell my partner about it and see what he says. Glad I noticed it before it's too late.
I would hope that you wouldn't have a problem if you ask your chap to email a copy of both sides of the credit card with a short message on the copy stating he has paid for your ticket as HaloHalo suggested. I was stopped at British Airways check-in a couple of years back and asked for credit card when I was travelling to a job interview abroad (prospective employer paid), I cannot remember what happened but I boarded the flight, I must have talked them round
Better safe than sorry. I think I have only been asked for the card once in the last twenty years or so, but if the person at the check in desk is having a bad day...
Yes, I've only been asked once, the problem is when someone else has paid for the ticket with a card, in our case our respective companies would always pay, normally on account with no credit card involved.
My wife was asked with emirates if i paided by card and she said yes and said she had a scanned copy of front and back of my card and a little note saying i had paided for it.
We have the same experience @Brom27 about credit card booking. One week before my intended flight to UK, I initially booked my airline ticket with British Airways using my aunt's credit card. However, the payment section was a bit complicated so I stopped before anything happens. Then, I decided to book the ticket with Emirates. I've spotted the credit card and ID requirement as well. Since I'm hesitant to give a copy of my aunt's credit card as they needed one, I did a research and found a loophole that would bypass such requirement. And the only way to do it is to do the booking through a third party. In my case, I used Expedia. Just to be sure, I emailed Expedia and I was advised to get in touch with the airline. (Even Expedia was playing safe). So, I rang Emirates and I was told that they don't require any photocopy of credit card and ID for all bookings made through a third party. I noted the name of the customer service representative as well as the reference number of the call. I'm a bit OC. lol.. I know someone whose flight was delayed because of the credit card. The passenger didn't realise that her ticket was purchased through a credit card. She was surprised when she was at the airport. She thought that it was paid in cash. The airport staff has to ring the credit card owner to confirm the ticket. So, it is best to get in touch with the airline.
