Hey I'm Rob I'm in the Army and engaged to a loverly girl called misha can't wait to see her again in April we first met in the US this November after meeting online last year and as she's going home in April to her parents I'm going with her so be my first trip to the phils I can't wait.
Thank you glad I stumbled on this forum it's awesome and the same to you hope your having a good one.
hi Soldier--welcome to the site--and a merry christmas. this is a really friendly and helpful place to be.
Thank you merry Christmas to you too and I see that I'm loving looking through the threads already so glad I came across it.
I can't wait to see her again and can't wait to see the phils and her parents live in San Juan have my hotel booked already just have to book my flight at the end of this month.
Nice mate. I was also deciding on joining the army before if I hadn't gotten a job with my current company. Thought of specializing in HR/Support Role after basic training. San Juan is alright. Don't bother bringing lots of clothes/things with you. There's a place called Greenhills around the area and you'll be able to find any stuff you will need.
Thank you mate and it's the best thing I've done been in since I was 20 and cheers that's exactly what the Mrs said as its cheap enough to buy clothes and whatever out there.
Welcome to the forum young soldier, I can assure you 100% that you will enjoy your time in the Philippines. I look forward to reading about your time there
Thank you Timmers yes I can't wait have lots planned and I finally get to meet her parents as I've met her aunts and uncles in the US lucky I have a great relationship with her parents already and I will definitely keep you all posted.
You'll love it more once you get here in the Philippines. Plus you're coming on summer so I hope you don't mind 32°C (or more) temperature when you get here.. Enjoy the sun.
When you finally get here, don't casually throw sir around pre. Some people might consider it as patronising/sarcasm. Sirs are generally reserve to those with titles.
I have to practice that.. I'm just trying to be polite but my partner also told me about that, drop the 'Sir' when I talk to someone. It's just that I'm used to say it here in Pinas, you know that's being polite in here..
Where have you been sent to? Hahaha... I know. I'm Pinoy as well and I totally get where you are coming from. Hahah... Hence why I'm telling you now so you'll know what to expect when you're finally here kababayan. Get used to calling everyone by their first names.
That's good to hear. My partner never loved it here. He doesn't like the sun. He is very sensitive to it, his skin gets burn when exposed to sun.. I have a stereotype before with foreingers that they always love the sun since its not too warm from where they come from but my partner has changed that..
