Haha excellent Interesting and I'm not surprised, I always said that Philippine food reminded me of Scotland http://www.cafepresko.co.uk/ It's not far off my old route into the city centre on the Calder road.
It’s only a small place and do a range of foods. But for me have the Filipino food when going there with the Mrs and taking other family members along when we are there visiting is what it’s all about. Last time took an aunt who has never had Filipino food, her words were “ I didn’t realise some of the things we ate could be so tasty”. To say she was impressed with her first taste of Filipino foods was an understatement. They had never heard of the Scottish Asian food awards till they got a letter informing them they had been nominated.
It is a new event from the sound of it interesting that the Multan in Paisley was up for one of the awards that's my pals favourite these days. In the early days when I first went over to the Phils back in about 2004 I was sitting in a hut in Las Pinas being introduced to the family and was served mussels and then Ana brought over something that looked sort of familiar, it turned out it was fried spam but it tasted in that setting like Lorne sausage after that loads of stews and the likes, but I turned round to Ana and exclaimed "Lorne Sausage" with my eyes wide I've not been in Edinburgh since I took Ana over for a day out back in 2007 when she was here for a couple of months visit, I would like to go back though I miss Scotland just back from visiting my sister and family up in Dundee a couple of weekends ago and that was my first visit for a couple of years. The menu looks good and I can imagine Filipino cooks being good at Scottish fare as well!
You should try and get back up. What part of the country are you in ? Ohh the display case of cakes looks fantastic but as yet not tried, the Mrs has gone for halo halo for both of us.
I'm exiled in England been stuck down here since I lost my business and my home in Scotland in 2009, I'm near Liverpool these days. I should book a weekend in Edinburgh sometime, it's a beautiful city. And I remember the Crowne Plaza from attending various IT events over there a few decades ago
Ahh Liverpool is not so far away, we were there for couple days earlier this month. I’m exiled also down in Bedford but go back to see family. The Mrs loves Edinburgh because of the history, since she arrived she has really fell for the amount of history in this country, especially the historical buildings. Ohh I hadn’t voted for them as I had never heard of the awards either, but I did give them a review.
ah I see. Sadly Ana was more or less oblivious to the surroundings in Edinburgh, she was much more taken with the shopping and the street food We did go into the National Galleries but it's not really her kind of thing.
They certainly like to shop it’s going to be the Mrs 2nd winter here, she virtually has a winter coat for each outfit We were away earlier this month, suitcase of clothes, bag of boots and large bag of coats, if she had to travel light then she would be in trouble what to take She is happy and always manages to look amazing in everything she wears.
