Obviously to Make calls as a first objective.....
    Why that particular model...???
What was the defining factor for you to choose it...??

For instance, I have a Sony ericsson Satio and the main reason was the 12.1 mp camera... As it would have saved me the trouble of getting one...

htc desire andriod. Good operating system, good camera, good apps, not locked to a network (unlike the mighty apple), not a flakey as apple / nokia etc

I was thinking of changint to HTC as soon as my contract is up, I had a bit of a fiddle with a "Desire" ( sounds bad, doesn't it...?) and I was impressed with the operating system.
The camera tho, lets me down as i would be downgrading slightly.... But what the heck...

HTC Desire! Android is pretty much open source so you know all the techies out there get to check it out. Plus the phone was very good for the time I got it (and still holds up). During tests, it delivered faster browsing than the other rivals of its generation, even over wifi:)

My phone is LG Viewty Snap GM360
I hardly ever make calls, but I receive 100's from my wife.
The key issues for me when I decided to buy were:-
Cost to buy (£40 on promo from Tesco)
Good enough photographic capability. (I have always carried some form of camera since around 1970)
Slim and small to fit nicely in my pocket, and also comfortable to hold.

That's it. My happiness is very simple.

Nokia 2220S (free on contract). Has a camera and a 1 hour voice recorder, which I need for my (undercover) work.

But the real clincher was not so much the phone, but the contract I got from e2save- unlimited landline minutes (allows me to continue working if the landline is on the blink), unlimited Orange minutes (for when my loved one finally arrives in UK), 300 texts/month (allows me to send free texts to my beloved's Orange PAYG in the Philippines). 400 x/net minutes/month (useful in checking mobile number validity in my work)

Price: Just 99 pence/month (after cashback).

    Nokia 6303 Classic. :erm:

Looking at the HTC Desire, they seem to get good reviews, might look at getting one soon, but if the price is right (ideally £15, but I can't see any deals for that price unless there's an upfront payment first)

One bad glitch with Android phones at the moment is a fault which sends a text to some random person. So, as an example (and an actual example from my part) I have sent Joy a text which reads something like "Goodnight Sweetheart, hope you sleep well. Mahal Kita Honey Ko", selected Joy from my recent texts and sent it... Only to find it had gone to my sister:erm:

This is an Android fault, not a Desire fault. And so far Google have not got round to sorting it out.

Never had that fault with mine i must say. i thought long and hard about my new phone, spending many an hour at work on forum and review sites and I'm 100% chuffed with it. Takes good pics and vids, email is easy. It took a little while to get used to the operating system but thats only natural.

It may be the case that someone is using his big thumbs....

Nope, was sending the text from within my usual texts to Joy. Then after clicking send the thing disapears, instead of aligning up with the rest of the sent texts.. Then when I see the list of recent texts that have been sent, my sister came up as number one.. Android decided to send it to her...

This is a recent fault for the last 6 months or so, so really from one of the updates I did. If you have a Desire stuck with factory settings it does not have this fault. But, yeah. this fault is noted around various forums and tech blogs.

I am very sorry oss but I don't rate any apple products, no matter how popular they may be with the boang and unwise.
They have the bad habit of reporting every move you do to Apple.
With Sony Ericcson I can disable my GPS and be able to be myself, without big brother watching over my shoulders.

    iPhone 4 :D
    Very happy with it :like:
Had an HTC for the two years before and the apple is far superior in so many ways.
I don't mind the latest news about a file that collects location data.
My data would be interesting for them - I zigzag across this fair nation of ours every day.
They can sink their teeth into that lot ;)

Is it not possible to disable the tracking?

I'd love an iPhone, but the cost is prohibitive on my low wages, which is why the HTC seems a low-cost alternative.

My issue with the iphone is the lack of changing the layout, I had a 2g for a short time and from what I can see that grid layout is stuck with nothing to perk it up... Except for the odd colour splash and background:(

Its Sony Ericsson for me :like: I find the phone very sturdy and user friendly. My first SE phone was SE K810i. You can store mp3 music, the camera is superb! :like: I can browse the internet as well :like: :like: :like: but sadly, that phone is snatched by thieves :boxer: :cry::cry::frust::cry: so now I am left with Nokia something (I dont even bother knowing its model :D) where it has no camera, i cant store music and I cant browse the internet! :erm::frust::cry: ... hoping to get a new SE phone or IPhone this year :):drama::boing:

I have a K810 which is my Pinoy phone. great little phone as although it has been beaten more times than a UFC fighter, it is still working and despite obvious wear and tear it works as dream still..

Though it has been relegated to taking my pinoy texts now:erm:
