..... either whilst partner is here in UK on fiancé visa or after marriage while on FLR visa?

I'm certainly not expecting this in my own situation but just curious really.

I know that the Home Office permit widows of settled person to remain even if they haven't reached the 5 year ILR position but not sure of the legal situation in the above circumstances.

I'm thinking there must be some sanction as otherwise there would be a flood of sham marriages followed by quick separation / divorce.

If the relationship fails whilst someone holds a fiance visa or FLR then he/she is likely to be sent back to where she's coming from, unless otherwise there is a compassionate reason to stay like there is a British child involve, so it would be cruel to send the parent home bla bla bla.

You shouldn't think about this things Gerry, you should focus on your wedding and looking for a kilt :D

Don't worry Gerry, I'm sure the missus will wait till the five years are up, divorce you, shaft you, take half your money and property then return to the Philippines a wealthier girl

Many a true word said in jest :)

Seriously, pre 2012 the loved ones only needed to be in the UK for two years before getting the ILR, I suppose back then it was easier for the girls who entered into a relationship for monetary gains and a UK passport.

No harm asking the question, I've done the same :like:
