Wow! Had another moment today with Joy when she mistook some text message I sent and kicked off So in my message I say something like "I expect lots and lots of kisses from you next year when I get to Manila" and I get two messages back like I was propositioning her like a prostitute or something... Oh, for heavens sake. A few weeks ago, she went swimming with her girlfriends and there were lots of images posted on Facebook of them all in Bikini's and swimwear. The title of the photo album (posted by her friend) was "for gurlz(sic) only". After a whole heap of people (including men) passed comments like "sexy ah.." and "wow ka sexy nila", I passed a joking comment, saying "Considering the new photo's added to this album, maybe you should rename it "For Men Only"... Well, she saw her a$$ with that and insisted I remove the comment (even though the friend of hers I meant it for found it funny)
I certainly make extra allowances for misunderstandings on line and especialy on voice calls but Im certainly not intending for a cultural misunderstanding to continualy put me in the dog house although im still not sure how to achieve this
Unfortunately Keith, you will need to discover a strategy as 'cultural misunderstandings' will be unlikely to disappear The key can be found but it will take quite some time, often associated with hormones imbalance, but not always. Equality (both sides) and mutual respect must be maintained at all costs Just my 2 centavos worth based on 15 years experience. BTW I'm still learning too
Off for the NSO marriage certs tomorrow I think its a combo what with me being off soon and no visa app in the system yet the elastic bands a bit stretched
Sean dude, this never changes. You've got it for life. Sometimes I'll post an absolutely AWESOME joke on the wife's FB, and she'll make me take it off coz of sensitive sensibilities lolz I know very well about all the misunderstandings ... I've had more than 4 years of them, and many more to come! lol! Tom.
