Just a quick question. for some reason I thought people with BRPs would be able to vote in local elections. I'm guessing from the checks I have done that this is not true?

Your partner can participate in Philippine elections by casting her vote at her embassy. Americans have similar privileges but not us Brits; we have to make do with postal or proxy voting.

    You're welcome.

The 2016 Presidential Election was held on 9th of May for voters in the Philippines. But Filipinos living abroad always vote in advance of that date as the overseas embassies hold outreaches with mobile polling stations. Filipinos here in Malta had their opportunity to do so on 10th April and I took this photo of a few of the many Duterte supporters who had just performed a synchronised chant and dance routine to entertain those waiting to cast their vote:

Two Filipino league basketball teams also played a match on that day:

I mention this as the London Embassy will, I am sure, contact all Filipinos registered with it to let them know of voting arrangements in 2022.
