    Hi,

Just had news yesterday that my grandad has cancer.

My fiance (filipina) and I (British) wish to go to the UK to visit him. So a tourist visa for a 2 or 3 week visit is what we'd ideally want.

We've been living in Asia for 8 months now, are planning to live in Manila/around Asia for foreseeable future.

She has no job, but 150,000 php in her bank for more than 6 months.

We'd just stay at my parents home next to my grandparents, my parents can provide a full sponcer letter both still work.

We've traveled around and stayed in 7 Asian countries together this year one month in each.

Two part question. One: we are current in Singapore, can we apply for her tourist visa to visit UK from here?
Second: any tips when applying? and do we have a decent chance?

    Question 1 yes
Question 2 difficult to rate chances on visit visas I would however apply and include a letter from the doctor explaining your grandfather's position.
    Good Luck

If your fiancée does not hold residency documentation for Singapore, you should contact either of VFS Global's offices at MYP Plaza or 79 Anson Road to ascertain whether she may apply for a UK Visit Visa in Singapore. I fear the answer may well be "no" in which case you will have to return to Manila and apply there.

If you are applying outside the UK you apply on line and attend a biometrics centre, as long as the country you are in has a recognised biometrics centre then there should not be an issue.
The biometrics centres are little more than a processing centre.

My advice was based on related experience. VFS also handles visa applications for Malta and my wife's brother (a Filipino) wanted to apply for a visa to visit us earlier this year. He was in Dubai at the time and was told, by VFS in Dubai, that he has to make his application in person in Manila since he did hold residency documentation for Dubai.

It says on the application having a temporary tourist visa for Singapore is OK to apply.

Appointment tomorrow so we will see.

New question, so she has a 6 month visitor visa, is there anything we need to do before we go? Ie injections or anything?

Also on our application we said we are going for one month now maybe im thinking we stay for 2 months as she has 6 months allowed is this fine as its not what we said in our application?

its a multi entry visa valid for 6 months--just as long as she leaves the UK before the end date. my girlfriend did exactly that.
