John i looked at this update first thing this morning, https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronav...remain-on-the-basis-of-family-or-private-life Im sure then it made a reference to booking a wedding if on a Fiancee visa, and something about IELTS, iv just checked through it in response to a members query and can find no reference to those topics now... Maybe i was half asleep this morning .

I'm in the process of preparing an application for an extension to my wife and step-daughter's settlement visa, so happy to see this update relating to difficulties obtaining documents because of coronavirus, which has affected us a bit. It mentions that applicants who have been unable to take an IELTS test can apply for an exemption if they were unable to access the test centres (which applies to us trying to get my wife an appointment in the UK to do the A2 test). Anyone have any idea how we would apply for an exemption? Call their help centre? Or just request it in the cover letter to the application? Thanks

When is your wife's visa due?

Her visa expires on June 25th. Apparently the IELTS test centres here are re-starting on June 27th. We have a test already booked for July 12th. On thinking more about it, it is probably safest for us to just go ahead and do the test on July 12th and then upload the results, even though the visa expiry date will have already passed. It seems like new applicants are going to be waiting for at least a month or two before the biometrics appointment happens anyway. Am I right in thinking that documents can still be uploaded before the biometrics appointment, even though the visa expiry date has passed?

Yes documents can be uploaded anytime prior to attendingappointment.
The present UKVCAS guidance also states that if they find some documents need uploading, you have until 10pm the same day of appointment to upload them.
