It's more fun in the Philippines...

Damage caused by Typhoon Agaton - only a signal 1 but a warning to others about what can happen here.

There's about 50 dead at the moment and another 150 or more still missing (all probably dead)... some suspect the numerous landslides were caused by illegal logging and the build build build program.

We've lost our water - the dam that supplies us has been broken and the pipe inside it has gone missing!

The problems for Baybay town were exacerbated by the duration - 3 days, the sheer quantity of continuous rain (nearly a meter on the first day!) and the rising sea tides... As the tide rose in the morning the river from the mountains couldn't drain causing flooding in the town... first time for about 50 years.

So, if you're thinking of buying or building here... maybe look for a hill not too close to the sea or the river and a hillside not prone to illegal logging :)
