The bbc has a rich archive, they can manage without the license fee

Isn't that 80% of what they and the other UK channels show anyway.... along with the endlessly regurgitated stuff on Freeview, Cable, etc ?

One of the reasons I did away with watching British TV..... and my licence to do so.

Apart from the fact tbat much of the BBC's output is repeats, they too have a cost: royalties have to be paid to tbe "talent" and others involved in the telecast.

In fairness, there is a lot of unique, quality stuff that is broadcast by the BBC every day. Britain is strong at producing some great dramas and documentaries. The BBC - without doubt - paved the way for this.

Whether, in 2019, the era of the licence fee has passed is another debate. As said above, I think it is outdated. But I wouldn't pillory the BBC for showing repeats of Dads Army or Coast. It still puts out a lot of original programming. The only problem is that so many other networks do likewise which makes the BBC less essential.

100% agree. With recently incarcerated scum like this chav doing his best to be a bogus asylum seeker, luxuries should be limited to stale bread and water.

This Anti British traitor, Stephen Yaxley Lennon, ranks below Jimmy Saville in the hierarchy of British heroism.

An ignorant over-generalisation if there ever was one. How would you know, have you lived in ever city, in every province? I'll answer that for you: no, you've spent a little time in Cebu City and slightly longer in Balamban, so you're hardly an expert.
