Yes, I googled it, but not verified it so I am only repeating what I saw... Mila is flying from Singapore to here and then back to Manila... I am thinking that I might go back with her for a while as it is looking very difficult and maybe impossible for her to Immigrate here.

I flew with Kuwait airlines ( about £420 return) and they were ok.. lovely new plane to Kuwait then an old one to Manila LOL
Only problem was that they were dry flights and I like a drink when flying...

this is just not true. I have travelled to the Philippines EVERY SINGLE YEAR for over 10 years in the last week in October just before the run up to All Souls/Saints, as that happened to tie in with the very end of my seasonal work. That is the week where the UK clocks go back - on the last Sunday, in October. I have usually travelled out the Tuesday after, that last Sunday of the month.

to give you some idea of how low the fares have been in that week, it was 434 pounds return Manchester-Cebu last October 25, and the year before that it was 384 return Manchester-Cebu. You are not going to get fares any or at least much lower than that at any time of the year. Those fares are only a few days, before November 1.

few Filipino OFW's who are overseas, are in a position to pick and choose when they go back to the Philippines. The decision is usually made for them by their employers or whoever their agency is.

All Saints/All Souls is not a high ranking enough holiday to have much of an effect, on international flights. It doesn't even have all that much of an effect, on internal flights in the Philippines although it does affect buses and ferries a lot as Filipinos in cities bust a gut to get back home to their province for a couple of days. But on a larger scale, All Saints/Souls not so important. It is not like Christmas, New Year and Easter at all. It is not all that long, a holiday.

even Chinese New Year has much more of an effect on the price/availability of flights to the Philippines than All Saints/All Souls.

£950 to over £1000 almost every year that I might have wanted to go and then decided not to go because it was too damned expensive, the week or two from about 20th till just after All Saints, Manchester to Manila for the last 14 years.

There were occasions about 13 years ago when I did go out then and got a price around £700.

Right now today if I wanted to go for about 2 weeks or so on the 20th of Oct this year KLM are quoting me £973.

The cheapest on Skyscanner with an acceptable flight duration is about £600 and with a decent airline, and prices right now are at a significant low compared to the last 10 or 12 years.

You could fly Turkish Airlines - outbound from Manchester 23 October, returning 20 November with shortish layovers in Istanbul - and get change from £737. That's booking direct with the airline. My elder son and my brother-in-law flew with them to Malta and had pleasant things to say - good food and good legroom.

just not my experience at all, and I have always travelled in that exact week.

of course, flightprices are much lower now than they were 10-12 years ago, but like I said, I have gone out to the Philippines EVERY SINGLE YEAR for the past 10 plus years on the last Tuesday, of the month of October. That's the way my working scheduele has been. I have finished work, every single year, for the season on the last Sunday in October, pack my bag on the Monday, and fly out on the Tuesday from usually Manchester but sometimes London to either Manila, or Cebu. Arriving just before Halloween, prices were always OK for me that week. Last year, with Cathay Pacific, it was less than 450 pounds return. The year before, with Air France and China Southern, it was under 400 pounds return. You're surely cannot expect, to get better prices than that, on any week of the year.

not only have I always got pretty good prices on international flights coming into the Philippines during that week, but I've never had any problems getting onward connecting flights to provincial cities in the Philippines on arriving in Manila either. Flights leaving straight away, on dates like October 29, October 30, or October 31, from like Manila to Bacolod, or Manila to Cagayan de Oro, were always available and not seemingly any more expensive than normal.

of course All Saints/Souls is an important holiday in the Philippines, but that doesn't mean it's an important holiday in the east Asian region - it's not. It is not like this coming weekend's Chinese New Year, which is observed by not just the world's more than 1.5 billion Chinese but also a lot of other east Asians like Koreans and Vietnamese. CNY does have an effect on flight prices and availability everywhere in the east Asian region, including the Philippines.

the holiday is a time when Filipinos do rush to get back to their provinces. Bus stations and ferry ports are busy the days before. But it is not on the same level as Christmas/western New Year and Holy Week. It seems to be much more localised. People are ready to get on a bus or a ferry from town to province. But not so ready to get on planes and travel long distance like they are for the really big holidays.

You have a double hit there, the 20th is on a Saturday and Saturdays seem to be the most expensive day to fly KLM MAN AMS.

A few days flexibility can save you a few quid, as can cashback from Quidco. :like:

I'm not going this year for James' birthday either, I don't have enough days left to use at that time of year, when I worked for myself in the years up to 2009 I tried to get out there at that time of year, I just checked the 2006, 2007 and 2008 years which I still have in my email, I paid £570, £1571 and £574, after 2009 when I lost my business I became a lot more price sensitive and the upper limit of what I would pay was about £700.

Those flights were all KLM and may have been higher due to tax etc. listed separately I would have to check my card statements from back then, the £1571 trip was Business class and would have been because I was collecting miles for status and that it wasn't that much more expensive than the economy flight at the same time (the economy flight would have been around £1000 ).

There are flights with Cathay for £600 this year but its not the money but the time that is the problem now.

    Friday-Monday KLM £863

I picked the dates just to get a result I am not travelling this year.

Winning 25 quid on the lottery can save you a few quid too as happened to me today.

I go 3 or 4 times a year, usually choosing either Emirates or Etihad, from Manchester... for a balance of quality, price and convenience (I prefer shorter journey times).
Etihad kindly upgraded me to Business for two of the four segments last trip.

I don't think I've paid more than 500 pounds for a ticket this past 3 years or so.

I was getting good prices for that week, the last week in October, no matter when I booked the flight. It could be in June. It could be in August. But even when it was Etihad and Emirates, or once it was an Etihad and PAL codeshare it was still about 600 pounds or just less return to Manila six or seven years ago, which was a pretty good price back then, and always a flight on EXACTLY THE SAME DAY. The last Tuesday, in October. The last two years it has been even lower than that, on that exact day, under 400 pounds in 2016 and under 450 in 2017.

of course I'm aware of the Philippines All Saints holiday. I deliberately bring chocolate to give to taxi drivers etc that week, which I would not normally bother to do, in other weeks and it always goes down well. But in my experience the holiday really doesn't seem to affect flights, unlike at Christmas, and even internal flights. Quite a few times I've flown from Manila to Cebu or some other provincial city on like the 30th or 31st of October and paid about the same as I would normally expect to pay on any other day.
