Just to show that I do take photographs of other people other than wife - I'll share a photo that I took at the gay pride festival in NY in 2012. I'll post a crop of it because the bikini might be a bit small for some people's sensibilities and I don't want to offend but the crop does spoil the shot. Well worth a visit if you're in NY at the right time.

OK. I know. I'll start a thread called Gay Pride NY so that I don't subvert this one.

Ah good we can all bask in our personal smugness at having picked the platform with the best range of lenses :D just such a shame that the absolute best ones start at around £5500 :D

I'm getting at me David no one else ;) :)

I have the 1Dx mkII but I couldn't possibly justify buying the 300 EF 2.8 L IS II at 5,800 quid but I do have a nice collection of the cheaper primes and the best of the cheaper older generation L zooms, the new generation are not so reasonably priced :)

Nikon have had the best of the sensors for a good few years but Canon has finally caught up to the point that one and a bit stops of noise is all that separates them in the low ISO shadows in the latest bodies (the huge dynamic range argument that makes some of this forums arguments look tame :D)

The thing though, about Canon, for me is simply that they have by far the best ergonomics, a good higher end Canon just feels right in ones hand all the controls are where they should logically be, I feel it in the same way that I have a passion for the older ThinkPad computers some bits of engineering are just right and Canon Ergonomics are usually just right on their high end bodies and they don't mess with the design unlike Lenovo who have messed with the ThinkPad.
