Are the obvious cheaters going to re-sit the test??? Or be, preferably, deported at their expenses?

Are the criminals involved in this scam going to be investigated properly, and be suitably punished???

I wouldn't really hold my breath for any lenght of time....

Incidentally our little Glyndwr University has had the privilege reinstated.

But what about the unnamed others?

Amazes me that university students cheat on the English Test, I expect it will be our colonial friends who are up to their tricks again.

Just makes things so much harder for genuine people wanting to come to the UK for genuine reasons.

She only needs A1 at this stage, which is very basic.

I think most of us have tried and failed the citizen test, but after a few attempts it becomes quite easy, just a little study that is required before the test.

I think we would all agree that some of the test content is pretty irrelevant to someone becoming a British Citizen.

You're right Graham, the English Test is something all our loved ones worry about understandably but never fail.

If achieve B1, then will never need to take a test again as the result is valid for further applications, unless the required level is raised by the immigration services in the future.

Note: ielts result is valid for 2yrs, but as long as the visa is continually renewed and not allowed to expire, the accepted ielts result can be reused for later applications, even after 2yrs.

Additionally results for speaking and listening are only required, its just the ielts test also includes reading and writing, which is not currently required for spouses.

Yes, good point. She doesn't need the written test.
