Hi, I have no job contract because 15 years ago they were filed and cannot be found. The HR department said they can issue me a letter with details of when I was employed and how much I earn, is this okay to submit without the contract?

I know a lot of people didn't submit their contract of employment, you should be fine with a letter from your company stating how long you have worked for them, whether position is permanent/temporary, how much you are paid and how long you have been paid that salary for. You could get them to mention about the lost contract too if you wish to cover all angles..

Better if the letter is from HR or a Manager.

    Good luck with the application.

If its a spouse visa you are applying for you do not need to fill in a sponsor form, some people mistakenly think they have to submit the SU07 form but it is for different visa types.

You can submit a joint letter signed by both of you outlining how you met, how you keep in touch, times you've been together etc. included in the letter your husband can state that he will be looking after all your financial and accommodation needs.

Don't stress too much about the application, it does get easier as you get into it, if you have any questions just post and someone will help you out :)

In addition to your own application form your daughter will also need application form.
Note the associated increase in Income Requirement

Thanks for this. One more question if I can.

My wife told me to send in my birth certificate and passport copies. Am I allowed to just photo copy these or do they have to be certified copies? Thanks

Send a certified copy of your passport, a local solicitor will do it for you for around a fiver. Just send a copy of your birth certificate just to be on the safe side, they only ask for one form of ID the passport being the best of course. Copy any entry/exit stamps to the Philippines in the passport too, it all goes to building a more complete picture for the case officer especially if they tie in with hotel receipts etc etc.

This is so stressful the visa process. Does anyone know if I earn over 18,600 which I do - do I also have to have savings or a fair amount of money in the bank. At the meme by each time I get paid I'm paying for English exam, new passport also living expenses for my wife, it's hard to save money as well. If I'm earning over 18,600 do I have to show that I have some money saved as well?

UKVI (Financial Requirement) has no interest in anything other than gross income when the application in being made under earned income alone.

Savings, liabilities and costs of living are not considered at all.

Ohh I feel so much better now. Thank you so much. I need to stop reading everyone's posts because I was starting to get confused creating unnecessary stress. I guess then just to be sure I don't get a rejection all I need to do is give the right documents in the way they ask for them because I do meet the criteria. Thanks again

    This webpage is very helpful!

I'm planning on submitting my wife's application in March or April this year. Can someone let me know if the documents below are enough or do I need anymore. I want to get it right first time as I meet the requirements so I don't want to get rejected based on the documents I send and it will cost another £995 application.

    My documents.

    Finances

1/6 months wage slips with a letter from my job or a stamp saying they are genuine. Last payslip to be within 28 days of making the application.

2/ 6 months bank statements- these will have be the same as the wage slips so they can see the wage is correct and paid into my account. Stamped by bank or with a letter saying they are genuine.

    3/ p60 for the last 3 years

4/ a letter from HR stating that I get paid 22,600 and when I started work and that its full time employment. Dated within 28 days of application.

    Accommodation

    1/ tenancy agreement - 6 months

2/letter from private landlord stating how many rooms and that I live there and that my wife is allowed also to come there to stay and they are happy to extend the term there.

3/ pictures of the house and each room.

4/ council tax bill (single person discount)

    5/utility bills

    Relationship

1/ pictures of all our visits together

    2/ pictures of wedding

    3/ wedding certificate

    4/Facebook messenger chat screenshots

5/screenshot of Tesco calling card calls between us

    6/screenshot of Skype call log

    7/ plane ticket stubs

    8/ hotel receipts

    9/ museum stubs

    Extra

1/letter from me the sponsor - stating the relationship details, our plans and why we choose the uk

    2/letter from wife -

3/letter from parents - stating how i met my wife and how they get on and that they are happy for us both to live in the uk

4/ certified copy of my passport including pages of when I have visited the Philippines.

    5/my wife's original passport

    6/the visa application

    7/SU07

    8/appendix 2

    9/Facebook timeline posts

    10/my certificate of non-impediment

    11/Confirmation of purchased plane tickets

12/English exam results from an approved centre.

13/TB test results (within 6 months of application)

Is this enough or should I send more or have I forgotten anything? I have until March/April to get it together.

We will put all this in a folder in order to make it easy for the clearance office to find things along with a content page of each piece of evidence.

It looks pretty much in order but we cannot vouch for it of course as we do not know the full content of the documents but it looks good.

I assume you're right bigmac, why don't one of you just login and take screen shots and work out the answers together from there?

And remember bigmac, the form you are filling out online is basically the one attached, the VAF4a attached is the form used when there is no online submission in a particular country. You could fill the attached form in together then easily do the online one :)
