Hi! Is there a new procedure in submission of all documents for child dependent visa? Or it is still the same procedure as when applying for Spouse visa i.e. sending orig and photocopy bundles to Sheffield UK

Your help is very much appreciated.

    Thank you.

Hi, from my understanding the process has changed a little very recently. According to the VFS Philippines webpage, you can either upload your supporting documents when the biometrics are done, or for settlement visas, the sponsor/UK resident can lodge the documents in person at various centres around the UK directly (for a £75 fee). It doesn't seem possible to just mail the documents to Sheffield any more. My wife's daughter has her biometrics appointment in Manila in around two weeks time, but we are planning to lodge the documents here in the UK within a week or so after the biometrics appointment.

    Hi,

When the child had her biometrics appointment, who was with her? Did you need a Power of Attorney?
    Thanks

Hi, the child was accompanied by her older adult sister to the biometrics appointment. We didn't have a Power of Attorney for the sister, but we did give her a letter of authorisation signed by her mother (this hadn't been notarised or anything like that), and we made sure her sister also brought her passport and birth certificate with her as proof of identity.

@roderrick my daughter had just her biometrics last Thursday and before the appointment at vfs Manila they scan all the supporting documents for her and then took her biometrics after that they said wait for 3 months. Yes they did not advice to send supporting docs to Sheffield anymore. But From my understanding you need to upload document first before biometrics? Have you manage uploading your docs here in uk after biometrics? if so how did you make appointment to VF services here?

    Hi all,
Just to note that after quite a stressful application process and subsequent wait, my step-daughter was ultimately granted her child dependent visa for the UK. Many thanks to the people here who answered my queries and to previous posts, they were super helpful when preparing the application,

Thanks. Actually the decision arrived two months or so back, but in the rush to get everything sorted once approved, it has taken me a while to post with an update.
I detailed the basic scenario in a separate thread from around the same time, but yes, the father was around but she wasn't living with him and he hadn't had a great deal of involvement in her life. I was always worried this was going to be difficult to show via documents though, but we managed it in the end....
