I too stand by what I said. It may well be true in your case, but I don't feel that it's the ideal basis on which to start a serious long term relationship, i.e. your partner is beholden to you for being able to provide her the means to be able to live in UK.
You've often reiterated that this was the case with you, which is fine as you are both honest about it. That doesn't make it the case with every relationship, though.
My Mrs wanted a white baby... even if the penalty was putting up with a penniless panget old pensioner .
@graham59 I have 2 girls (locally made) atleast your Mrs just want white baby, before I was dreaming of having another baby boy with blue eyes, which is not possible since my husband eyes are brown.
the OP stated he met the lady online..so i presumed a dating site. why do philippinas go on dating sites hoping to contact a Brit ? is it to entice him to up sticks and move over to the philippines ? no--i hardly think so. they--quite understandably want to come to the UK and start a new life with the lucky contestant. now the majority of young philippine girls arent likely to have a lot of money---so its down to the British guy to foot the bill--which will be probably be at the least £10,000 or more all told over the settlement period. so--isnt it reasonable for him to set a few ground rules ?
Don't give up hope. I have brown eyes too, but my mother has green eyes and my sister has blue eyes... all with brown hair. Always an outside chance...and so much fun 'practising'.
Some interesting comments here . I'd love to know how many Filipinas come to Uk / or are able to come to Uk , and how many Brits , either move out to Philippines full time ,or have a wife or gf living there with no intention to come here . Family being so important to many Filipinos, maybe there are many with no desire to leave their home country , especially if their life is made better there , by the support of a foreigner .
