They didn't make it easy for him.
Whilst reversing a rigid (like this) or an artic, there are ways to stop in the right place without knocking the barrier down.
A bit of tape on the side mirror and lined up correctly can help ;)
    He was stitched up.
Well, a shirt and tie with shiny shoes never goes down well with truckers

Err. No. The new forest is expensive. Indeed according to the below link its the most expensive national park area. It may be cheaper than certain London areas or Henley on Thames but I would scarcely think close on half a million pounds average is 'quite reasonable'. Quite reasonable compared to what, exactly?

Quite reasonable compared to Surrey or West London.

Agreed - at least compared to certain areas of West London and certain areas of Surrey. But that absolutely doesn't mean the new forest is not expensive in its own right.

So. Which do you live in? West London or Surrey?

I live in an ".......... On Thames" place, so I really do think the new forest is reasonable :)

Yeah. Thought so. Your profile says West London/Surrey border.

My ex mother in law who was a pompous, materialist old baggage who never tired of telling people what an exclusive and expensive area she lived in would do precisely the same thing - which is why I knew exactly what you were up to the moment you wrote your post.

Here's an eye opener. It doesn't actually work and it's not a good look.

I think you overthought my post, I really do think the new forest is reasonable :D I didn't say it for effect, I said it because it's reasonable.

I didn't overthink it, that's just how it sounds! The new forest is expensive and everyone knows it.

It would sound just the same if you blithely stated that 100k was a 'reasonable' price to pay for a car. You might think it a reasonable price to pay, but to say so would sound somewhat boastful wouldn't you agree?

In any case, I don't feel that property prices in most of the UK could ever be defined as 'reasonable'. They are foolishly high and I feel sorry for the youngsters nowadays who don't own their own homes.

Are you "triggered" by the word reasonable, I couldn't give a f*ck how it sounds :D it's reasonable to me, and yes, you did overthink it :D

My point exactly. Laugh. I'm not triggered by a word. I'm triggered by a certain sort of behavior and people that are full of it. :)
