I think he will stay in the forefront of British politics but he will have to rename the party when Brexit has taken place.

He's a Fascist, and he's been one since at least his teenage years if not earlier, how much of a proper Brit is that.

    Vive la France!
    Macron humiliated.

Le Pen beats Macron in EU election

Marine Le Pen’s party in first place, according to projections.

Marine Le Pen's "far-right" National Rally scored a first-place finish in the European election in France, besting President Emmanuel Macron's Renaissance list, according to early projections of the French vote — a major victory for populist, Euroskeptic forces.

I don't label people. I find that rather unimaginative and 'learned behaviour', by those who can only cope with simple concepts.

I prefer to construct and update assessments of a person, based upon his or her track record and what comes out of THEIR mouth, or from THEIR writings. :like:

Maybe I'm a 'Fascist' ? So be it. Being an Atheist can be challenging at times too, but having your own free mind is wonderful. :)

It's an interesting set of results. The EU elections have always been a bit of a protest vote, so it doesn't necessarily mean success in a general election for Farage. Certainly though he could realistically expect to gain at least a dozen seats should an election be held tomorrow.

On the other hand, the actively remain parties did fair better than Brexit. Lib Dems and Green would undoubtedly pick up many more seats if that general election was tomorrow.

Con/Lab represents God knows what. Colossal failure of leadership- especially Lab against the worst PM in living memory.

Ultimately it shows no sign that any compromise can be reached over this sodding Brexit thing. It may well be pushed through by the next PM, but it is going to antagonise half the population. The Norway and Switzerland ideas touted pre-referendum by Farage and co have been forgotten about. It was all about WTO, apparently. How can you expect me to be happy that certain people want to deprive me of the rights to work and settle in 27 neighbouring countries?

Not aimed at you, Graham. But definitely aimed at those politicians and campaigners who are incredulous that their past words and actions are judged.

It didn't exactly come from nowhere. It was a continuation of the same personnel and funding after UKIP became a bit too toxic.

It would be genuinely interesting to know how far the whole Brexit thing would have gone without Farage. Clearly, and thankfully, the voters rejected the dregs of society like Yaxley Lennon. Wonder whether Brexit would have just been a core group of grumbling Tories or as widespread as it is today.
