We are off to Rome early September and we don’t have to book in!
I take it you find the flight gate on board then just go through immigration and then present your ticket at the gate to board the flight

Lol we booked to fly from Liverpool easy jet it says you don’t have to book in as we will only have cabin luggage not big hold luggage so it says go straight to gate so I assume as my post says you find the flight number and gate then pass through immigration then find gate and present e ticket which is sent to us nearer the time

That implies that you're doing online checkin and will have a boarding card on your phone or a printed paper boading card with the QRCode.

Last time I flew from Liverpool they had the scanners for boarding cards prior to security on the second floor which was accessed from the left hand side of the checkin desk area.

Yeah you will have a boarding card and you scan that before the security madness, you get yourself through the new security hall and then present the boading pass again at the gate, I say new security hall but it's been there for donkeys now, I'm trying to remember where I was going last time I went through Liverpool, KLM pulled out of there a long time ago which was a shame as it was easier and cheaper to get to Liverpool airport than to get to Manchester, round trip to Manchester by taxi is 120 quid now :(

I think Malcolm means check the dimensions of the cabin baggage carefully to be sure that it does not exceed EasyJet's specific limits, different airlines different rules.

Just checked and EasyJet is now 45 x 36 x 20 cm which is quite tight buyt it is allowed to weigh up to 15kg which is pretty good, my main photography backpack would fail on dimensions but I got it specifically for KLM, I have a separate day pack backpack for the 7kg airlines like Emirates that is more compact but I really struggle to carry all the gear including laptop that I want on those weight restricted airlines.

I assume we need my ticket on my phone and my wife’s ticket on her phone for getting through?

I always use online checkin have done so for the last 16 years, it's not the ticket you need but the boarding card you can usually either print your own boarding card or have the boarding card on your phone personally I prefer to have the printed copy as well as a backup.

I haven't used the easyjet app for a long time but I am certain it will store the boarding card, I would say also make sure you have a copy of the ticket as well in case you are asked for it.

What they say is the ticket becomes available upto 3 hours prior to flight departure time. So if not there before we leave will have to relay on phone!

That sounds really weird, here's the EasyJet check-in procedure which is pretty much what I remember from my last EasyJet flight to Poland.

    Check-in | easyJet

What kind of ticket is this? Was it booked via an agent or direct with EasyJet, is it all already paid for upfront?
