A new album from the legendary Jeff Lynne and ELO. I haven't been so happy since our meet-up at Cora's. Al. http://www.npr.org/player/v2/mediaPlayer.html?action=1&t=1&islist=false&id=442856182&m=442881531
Here are further details of the upcoming album. Al. http://ultimateclassicrock.com/elo-all-alone-in-the-universe/
Legendary doesn't quite reach the heights achieved by Jeff Lynne. But the best word we have for the time being. I'm a huge fan of his stunning accomplishments and also the man himself. So very humble and self-effacing and yet a master songwriter and producer. I really wish he'd do a couple more in-depth interviews. Doubt he will though. What a treat his new album will be
I saw a documentary a while back featuring Jeff Lynne, an interesting fellow and he still retains a little of his Brummy accent. I thought that ELO were way ahead of there time when they hit the limelight in the late seventies. I think he is married to an Asian lady too, I could be wrong, maybe I'm mixing him up with some other musician.
Roll over Beethoven by ELO was one of the few cover versions of the Chuck Berry classic that I liked, ELO certainly had a unique sound and quality for sure.
