Well John it would appear to be a product for a specific purpose and that is to slow down the fast setting times of a true lacquer and it is supposed to be Cellulose based, I know for sure you cannot add ordinary thinners to Cellulose paint I tried this one time, I would doubt if you can do it the other way around but this may be possible? However I could not help but to think if there is a way to improve paints and make them especially good for adhering to metal, why has this not been done, the manufacturers could charge a premium price for this.

It might just have been it appeared [to me] to work well because it was bloody hot here when they we're working... anyway it looks ok - still need to go around and touch up the few bit's they missed :like:

Perfection is something I've come to accept I'm not going to find here :D

I've never seen the paint they used before... it was a little strange - it came in two parts - big tin with the paint and a small tin with the catalyst - somewhere a long the line they added the "laquer" ... cannot imagine it is ph witchcraft but you never know :D

Sounds like they used a two part Epoxy paint, very good for most metals. But never heard of adding lacquer in the epoxy paint before.

    It's better i
If you make them give it two coats, that way it's almost impossible to miss any. Should give it two coats anyway. BTW I looked at the link you posted. It's not a Lacquer. LESCO Lacquer Flo 350cc • for lacquer-based clear liquid paint • used to delay drying of lacquer paints.
