I have threatened to find somewhere central for members to meet personally and at long last I found something which may be feasible for a lot of people. Some may have to travel that little more than some others, but it will be a small sacrifice. As it is the most central in the UK, it may be the most convenient for the majority of the members wishing to go. I don't have any experience of this particular one, so I don't know what it is going to be like. as with all Fiestas, it will be weather dependent, and a few drops of rain, if they appear, won't put me off.. As it won't put off the filipinos that have been waiting a long time to attend to mingle with their compatriots and enjoy the athmosphere.. It will be over 2 days, and if we can all decide on one of those, maybe the Sunday it will be great.
Lightwoods Park is just off the M5 motorway on Hagley road which takes you into the centre of Birmingham, lots of hotels on that road to suit every pocket for those interested in spending the night.
My thoughts as well spending one or two nights preferably all in ther same one would mean easir logistics and the wives could mingle easily and no driving for us
https://www.innkeeperslodge.com/birmingham-west-quinton/#about all you can eat breakfast toby lodge roasts 20 plus rooms 2 adult 1 child £130 for two nights including breakers and 1,4 miles from the Fiesta https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/T...27ba03d5bb18dde8!2m2!1d-1.9736943!2d52.470767
I can't make definite choice this early Keith, I've got a lot of outgoings soon, and I am looking to get a car again which will change everything for me, but I like do the idea.
Innkeepers lodges are not too bad, depends on what else is going on that weekend as to the availability as the Edgbaston cricket ground is just down the road and Hagley road is a very popular stopping place at the best of times due to the ease of getting into the centre of Birmingham. It would probably be easier just for everyone to find their own accommodation and maybe meet up at somewhere like TGI Fridays which is at the bottom of Hagley road. Like me there will be many people who cannot guarantee until the last minute whether or not we'll be able to make it
Having had a quick look at the prices, I could be interested in two nights traveling down on the Friday.
I hope people are overnighting in a hotel on the Saturday night as I cannot drink alcohol on the Sunday night with work on the Monday. Could possibly make it on the Friday too.
It has a major plus point Dom we can all argue about the result of the EU referendum it will be all over by that time
My thought is to go up , its a couple of hours drive, on Friday after schooll kicks out so 18:00 arrival ish Mike
So 115 days to go who is up for the collective version at the quinton innkeeper and how many are you?
We are ok staying at the "Quinton Innkeeper" on the Saturday night, Keith. It would be good to book soon before the rooms are occupied. As soon as a few people have committed, I will book the room myself - I have checked their website and the four of the aposhark family will go. Good to meet up again like the last time in Manchester:
