hi, could anybody please advise if it would be easier and more straight forward to get married in the UK than it would if the marriage took place in the Philippines? Or is there not much difference? Thanks in advance.
Irrelevant in our case but does that mean you can go from entering UK as an already married Spouse, to ILR, in less than the 5 years it takes on a fiance(e) route?
I imagine it 'could' be less costly to get married in the Philippines, but I doubt the Visa route will be any cheaper overall - after all, the UK still want their (several thousand) 'pound of flesh'...
If you marry in the Philippines there is one less visa cost, If you marry in the UK you will need either a Marriage visit visa or a Fiancee visa after these the path to ILR is the same time whether you marry in the UK or the Philippines, so marrying in the Philippines is a cheaper path there are however upsides and downsides to both paths.
Yes you come to the UK already married but it’s irrelevant in that both routes require 60 months residency in the UK regardless. Both 5 year routes:- Spouse Visa (2.5 yrs) - FLR (2.5 yrs) -ILR Fiancé Visa (6 mth) - FLR (2.5 yrs) - FLR (2.5 yrs) - ILR
