Yes I see what they were up to now - what I find hard to believe is BDO (Citeh's permanent(?) "Auditors") went along with it. Saying it's not easy to audit transactions happening outside the [books of the] club is true but that's why BDO should have been looking at the substance of the transaction and asking themselves whether the sponsorship deal from Etihad reflected fair market value... Cannot see BDO lasting long. And it's all very well having all this regulatory shyte but this started in 2009! Why's it taken the EPL nearly 20 years to get on top of it? Trophies have been won, teams relegated... blah blah blah... suppose that's what happens when you let all these johnny foreigners in! So Citeh bought the league tsk tsk tsk...
