The airports are all over the place, I've read only Birmingham and Edinburgh have removed restrictions but I know for a fact that Manchester have had the fancy high tech scanners that Amsterdam has had for years now for nearly a couple of years themselves but they still have a ban by the looks of it. Manchester doesn't or didn't demand the extraction of my laptop and cameras last couple of trips and that is the sign that the new scanners are in place.
