My attendance allowance has come through, and I now meet the financial target of over £18,600 and can bring my girlfriend in from the Philippines. At the moment she is in Spain, and has overstayed her Schengen Visa.
(Spain having been a popular route for Filipinos coming into Europe).
(Should I attempt to go through a lawyer in Spain to regularise her stay ie pay €1800 overstay fee).

Which is the best route in - Fiance visa or Marriage Visa ( we got engaged in Spain recently).

I could marry her in the Philippines and then bring her in - I notice a marriage visa is only £93. Then after that we will have to apply for the Family Visa.

    Please advise, with the delays.

The visit visa is £93 the spouse visa is a lot more, and a lengthy process.
Congratulations again by the way,Is she a nurse?

She is not a nurse. She is a widow, with no children.
She owns a number of houses in the Philippines. Was married to an American before (who died).

I am also a French National - ( have British and French Citizenship).

I agree the marriage visa is the best way forward.

My concern though is that she overstayed the Schengen Visa.

Amazing I am a real person - slightly mad.

It's terrible isn't it! The best laid plans change.

Seriously though I put something like £18,000 into a relationship with a Filipina with three children, who suggested that she was very pious to ultimately help get into the UK as a nurse. Thought we had a relationship and on her arrival she told me that we didn't - drrrr - what a fool I had been! She arrived on the 30th November 2018 and I asked her to leave on the 19th January 2019. It really happened - she never spoke to me again - she thrust her children to me - I guess my ultimate problem is that I am a big softie! The 6 year old had spoken to me a lot and even painted me a picture...... I just couldn't understand or comprehend the lies. One day I might be able to write a screenplay about it.

I went on Filipinocupid everyday and was talking to a number of women - my business partner though I was mad. I was in essence getting over a really bad incident. I asked on this forum some pertinent questions and decided that members here had a point - my late father had died in a nursing home, so I had my late mother, and I decided that it was not going to happen to me.

I ended up getting engaged after the meeting.

The former thread has been deleted - thank you very much guys!
