I am currently in the process of arranging my marriage to a filipina, I have just sworn my oath on an affidavit. We then proceeding to the local municipal and was told we require judicial recognition at a cost of 150,000 pesos? The lady said this was new. We proceeded to the courts who advised us of a notary lawyer, when we asked him to arrange this for us he said we did not require as I had not been married to a Filipino before. We went back to the municipal and told the lady this. She insisted it was true. I am confused and angry we the moment as an extra 150,000 is too much right now. Has anyone heard of this. Thanks in advance Paul and Michelle.
The Judicial Review is needed for foreign divorces, as you have pointed out. The lady your dealing with is wrong! See this link to help http://www.sanchezlawph.com/2019/07/29/philippine-judicial-recognition-foreign-divorce/
"Judicial" to, means that there is a Judge or three involved in the obvious scam, as somebody higher up the food chain must be in charge of this
Thanks for that, the lady works at the municipal building and was pissed off we interrupted her eating. We have spoken to an attorney who confirmed what you said that she is wrong. She annoyed me so much I want to have her reprimanded for this. Thanks again
She works in the municipal building too, We think she knows she is wrong and we will go on monday as I am in fil for xmas.
