    Next PM will have to take the job in the knowledge that s/he is just a stop gap solution.

    This Conservative era is coming to an end. Highly improbable they win the next election. Similar to Gordon Brown who became PM at the end of the New Labour era and was widely viewed as lacking the mandate from the electorate.

    I don't think Theresa May has long-term ambitions any longer and would be an experienced temp until someone gets the full-time job.

    it goes round. The incumbent party knows it cant solve the looming catastrophy so hands it to the other side..who are in fact exactly the same.

    all those furlough ££80%'s have got to be paid back somehow.
