I am currently starting the spouse visa application from outside of the UK, do you guys think it's worth paying extra for the priority? As some people are saying you still wait long.
This really comes down to personal choice - and finance! The pandemic certainly has slowed down (nearly) all Visa applications and decisions. If you really cannot bear to be apart for a moment longer than is absolutely necessary, pay the premium fee. This should give you an idea of current waiting times - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/visa-decision-waiting-times-applications-outside-the-uk
When we first applied for fiancee visa--late 2015..the fast service scheme hadnt started--it came in just after she got her visa. But if it had been available--i would have paid to speed it up. For her first FLR i paid an extra £500 for same day decision in person at Croydon UKVI..so she could start work straight away. It didnt take long to earn that !. There was no advantage to go priority for her 2nd FLR--and it didnt take long for the result anyway. However--to save waiting for possibly another 6 months--we paid the extra £800 for super priority next day service for her ILR.
With fast track process, it’s much faster than ordinary process even with this Covid problem, my friend paid for her with fast track and she got things done only a little bit longer than it should, but it is still better than ordinary process.
