And this is the end effect of following the anti British traitor Stephen Yaxley-Lennon and teenage Nazi enthusiast Nigel Farage. Racist buffoons are emboldened to come out of their caves with Farage's sound bites still fresh in their peanut sized brains and confront Filipino nurses. Yaxley-Lennon and Farage don't care just about the boats. They hate anyone who isn't white. You know damned they will be targeting your partner next.

Original Facebook post from the unfortunate Filipino nurse:

This bothers me. My wife told works in a supermarket, and I've told her that if anyone comes in waving an England flag she needs to go straight into the office out of the way. The great unwashed have been painting roundabouts near to where I live, so they are out there somewhere nearby.

One thing about the Filipino nurse thing is that there's more to it then at first meets the eye. It wasn't just a case of people approaching her and abusing her. It seems that the English couple's dog was scaring her daughter and an argument ensued, in which the nurse took out her phone and started filming the couple.

I'm not excusing what followed, but this current trend of taking out a phone and filming people to post on social media is enough to set anyone off and the old English couple were clearly not the sharpest tools in the box.

As for Laxley-Lennon and Farage, they know full well that they are giving these people the fuel they need to act like idiots. The thought that Farage could become Prime Minister due to Labour's complete incompetence is absolutely terrifying!

Disturbing that a British couple became so racist when a Filipino family became scared of their dog.
However, people should realise that getting their phones out to take videos can inflame an already volatile situation.

I can understand why Laxley-Lennon is mentioned in this thread because of his history of racism but Farage is only trying to win votes by bringing up the issue of mass immigation and boat people (economic migrants) from countries who cross Europe to get to the UK.

    Would bother me too.

My wife's seen the bloody video too now!

Sadly both parties have failed to tackle immigration and housing... so it's looking as if they're finally going to pay the price for that.

People on the internet and/or social media often see the bad things. They don't see the many thousands of Filipinos living happily and peacefully in the UK every day and every year.

Farage is like Trump in that he needs a cause to rally behind and portray as the new enemy/scourge of the country. The Europe debate is now finished with little tangible benefit to the country. What do you genuinely, hand on heart think Farage would do if the boats all stopped? Do you think suddenly he becomes a normal politician who introduces ideas for investment and innovation in the country? Makes housing affordable? Cost of living? The reality is that he will need new scapegoats and a new slogan. People who have migrated here legally would, I fear, be next on the menu. Like Trump and his own immigrant spouse, I'm sure Farage (or whoever has toppled him by then) will be able to skirt around his own relationship history.

Is anyone happy with the boats?
Farage is bringing this to the attention of the public and a lot of people will find this encouraging.
You don't but a lot do.

Of course the boats arriving are wrong for a number of reasons. People shouldn't be putting their lives at risk to come to this country and those who do arrive shouldn't be slipping into the shadows. Any immigrant, whether it's your wife or an Ethiopian refugee, who commits a crime should have their status to remain in the country revoked. I certainly wouldn't expect to be allowed to remain in the Philippines if found guilty of a criminal offence.

Is it the most serious problem this country faces? No. Will solving the boats do anything to help with cost of living, housing, poor public services, councils at near bankruptcy? No.

Farage chooses his battles wisely. He needs an enemy at the other end who invariably are foreigners .

The boats bringing in economic migrants is a serious problem and Farage is addressing this issue.

Farage is not on your Christmas email list but he is someone who is keeping this issue in the spotlight and this is a good thing IMO.

And FWIW I do think this stupid idea that everyone who is against immigration is a racist just hampers free speech and sensible debate about a serious problem that is affecting ordinary peoples lives on a day to day basis:

e.g. The OAP who is afraid to walk down to the post office and collect their pension because there's always a group of 10-15 foreign guys hanging around by the door.

e.g. The teenage girl who is now afraid to play in the park because there's always a group of 10-15 foreign guys hanging around by the swings etc.

Who wants that for our old or young people ?

    I agree.
I do my best to stand against racism but I like what Farage is doing on this.
We all have to make judgements on where the line in the sand is marked out.

All Farage is doing is shouting from the sidelines. A problem Starmer created for himself was doing his own sound bites of "smashing the gangs" and, once in power, the complexity of fixing the problem is not quite as simple. Brexit has made this issue far worse than it otherwise would have been. Thanks for that, Nigel.

And I didn't say it wasn't a serious issue. But what I feel is a much more serious issue is that the increase in cost of living is making me and millions of others poorer as my salary has not increased by the same percentage that my trolley in Aldi has. Those boat people are not the reason why I am poorer.

I voted for Brexit and would do so again if I had to and I thank Nigel for taking the reins on that (don't forget the British people voted for Brexit.)

And if we had any doubt that Farage hates your partner, he's now confirmed it. He's an absolute scumbag.

It appears to me he's trying to address the same problem Trump is in the US that is businesses bringing in cheap labour/outsourcing roles that they should be training people up in the US/UK to do - classic examples being NHS workers and ERP implementation, development and support.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the article you've referred to is about business not family issues.
