NYC mayoral frontrunner Mamdani: 'I don't think we should have billionaires' And I have to agree... Trump will probably have this guy deported soon
The problem is taxing them. And the next problem is donor money in election campaigns. British citizens were far better off when the top tax rates were in the 90% region and before all of the financial instruments that were invented to allow these people to escape taxation. American citizens were far better off when top tax rates were in the 75% region. Overall I would agree as well, the problem the USA has is that anyone who speaks out against the rich gets buried, Bernie Sanders has been a lone voice for decades but he's too old now and he knows it, the Maga morons actually want the kind of policies that Bernie and now Mamdani have been espousing they're just too stupid to realise it. Money has cornered politics not just in the US but here as well, and the people that exploit the increasing desperation of that masses with lies to gain political power like Trump and the people backing him have unfortunatley won. Share buybacks, directors loans, share options for senior directors all this sh*t should be banned, these things incentivise the short-termism that these bastards indulge in and profit from, when they close businesses down and move them to foreign climes you can bet they will get an f'ing payoff and likely walk straight into another directorship at another company and do the exact same thing. I've not seen how the story has played out at my former employer yet but that was a private equity buyout by a big US private equity firm who invested about 3 years ago in an american based startup designed in cornering specific software industrial sectors across the globe, my gut tells me that the bought my employer to get the customer base, the company I worked for is now just a brand inside the group and I think but I don't know for sure that while they've acquired the brand that they will gradually phase it out to replace it with similar software brands that will cost the customers a lot lot more to implement, they're never working to benefit the consumer or the workers they're working to screw the workers and the consumers by cornering entire markets and the longer it goes on the more successful they will be. The guy that led the creation of the group that bought out my employer a french guy he'd resigned and moved on already a couple of months after I left, he'd been in charge of the group for probably less than 2 years, we had to sit through a tortuous acquisition lecture with this guy and two of his henchmen the very first day of their ownership of us, it was mind numbing, anyway this top insustry leader was off on his next adventure doing the same thing for some other bastards. I could say a lot more but it's late.
