    Hello,

Im a little bit confused with what i have read in some discussion, for same sex relationship, as i understood it, we can apply for partner visa as it qualify the same sex right? However, i called the embassy here in the ph and the lady i talked to told me we would need to marry here, moreover, have read some same sex partners did that or planning to do that. It is not like we dont want to get married, we are still young, we presume, both 26yrs old so it kind of like a big thing for us, for now to get married. Just want to clarify or if you know cases where in, partner visa has been approved for same sex who doesnt intend to get married but just be together in UK? Thank you for the time and attention.

    Hi Mattecube,
Yes. If that is possible :) its not that we dont want to marry each other. We just both feel it too early for us? Its been three years since we met and he has been here 3 times already for the last one year.

The best you will get at present is a visit visa valid up to 6 months and can be difficult to get!
I think you maybe thinking of a visa that allows partners to live together outside marriage but you have to demonstrate you have lived together for the last 2 years

    Hi Mattecube,

Is it physically living together for 2 years? Or being in a relationship? Sorry I just want to gather information as big money is in stake for the visa :(

you have to prove you are living together as if married for 2 years. ( and you each must be free to marry if you so chose to )

your cheapest option for now--as others have already said--is a visit visa--IF you can get one. many are refused. its valid for 6 months--plenty of time to see how the relationship is going. saves risking an expensive fiancee visa fee.

you cannot get married on a visit visa though. its just for what it is--a visit.

the last thing UKVI wants is for someone to come over on a casual try it and see basis then disappear off the radar is an illegal immigrant.

    Hi Bigmac,
I understand. The other option there is, is getting married in consular then apply for spouse visa right? Thank you.

    yes--you can...its called a settlement / spouse visa..

or apply for what we call a fiancee visa ( settlement / marriage ). costs same as a spouse visa--valid for 6 months--you either get married--here in the UK --or leave before the 6 months is up. if you do get married--then you apply for the first of 2 Further Leaves to Remain--each valid for 30 further months.

either way its a 5 year journey to settlement.

your partner has to meet specific financial requirements and have somewhere suitable for you to live.

I see, he already met the 18k financial requirement and looking for apartment or us to settle. I see, so fiancee visa is more close to what we want. Been looking over the net. Just want to ask if not to much, if you have idea how much fee for the wedding registry in UK?

    You
The other option is a marriage visit visa this allows you to visit marry but downside is you have to return home to apply for the next visa.
Upside is it's cheap option and gives you the chance to live together and see how it works out( valid for 6 months)

Plus side is quick answer on visa application but will need to show plans to get married (email registrar and they will respond that cannot make arrangements until in UK) and convince them that will return to Philippines afterwards. No ILS charge but no access to NHS so should consider travel insurance. As visitor cannot work either.

Downside is having to go back to Philippines to do settlement visa application which will take three months or more and then come back.

Lols. Seems like the easy way is to get married here then apply for settlement visa right? Fewer steps?

Honestly yes if your there do That! I regret not doing that as trying to prove your getting married on fiance visa is a pain in the ass ..you can't make plans or book a venue unless the lady is with you...this part I'm on now ..proving we are going get married as no registrare will let you book unless your fiance is with you...so get married now
