I didn't mean it like that, I thought "got me there" is a good way of summing it up

    We are the easy target.

There are opinions on this forum from both sides of the political divide in the UK, I am centre left and I see no reason for the hoops we are made to jump through, others may disagree with me.

But the British Passport application, from philippines - does this also require an application for British citizenship too?

Wow what a knowledgeable lot, you are!
Thanks so much for the brainstorming.
    But
He still needs DSWD exit paper too, I think. Because he has a British passport without entry stamp at Manila. Ah no I'm wrong , he needs a Filipino passport too, I see now

He will be a Philippine citizen so you have to comply with their laws.

It will very likely require that you can prove paternity, it might not be in the current help for the current application forms but you are not married and that will raise red flags that will very likely require you to prove paternity.

And I am centre right - okay, maybe a bit more right than centre :) - but on this I do agree with you, Jim.

You're not applying for British Citizenship but rather for official recognition your son's British Citizenship. That can be achieved by the issuance of a British Passport.
He should exit the country using his Philippine Passport.

My younger son, who flew accompanied by his parents and who travelled on a Philippine Passport, did not require any DSWD documentation and he was too young for the CFO nonsense. The older one joined us after a year and was accompanied by his uncle, both using Philippine Passports. He did need DSWD clearance which necessitated Mae and I preparing a bunch of Affidavits and having them sealed and Red Ribboned by the DFA (Rome branch on an awayday).

And he should arrive back in the Philippines presenting both his UK and Philippine passport from then on (the parents should present both passports).

To explain why there are no arrival/departure stamps from abroad in his Philippine Passport? Yes, you're probably right although that would depend on the examining immigration officer on duty in arrivals. Probably truer in Manila and Cebu than Davao where they take a more relaxed view (but they only have one scheduled international flight a day, the Silk Air to Singapore).

If you prefer to stay in your home town why did you spend ten years away from your home town?

If you are a Filipino citizen how are you sponsoring your hubby? Have you duel passports? If you have a UK passport and using it to sponsor hubby in theory you are a foreign national (albeit you hold a Filipino passport as well) and as such your hubby I would suggest is required to attend CFO
If this is the case and if I were in your shoes I would get him to do the CFO and get the stamp, you don't want any potential pitfalls looming by not covering it.

Hi, I'm holding an Indefinite Leave to Remain/ Resident Visa. I've search online and everywhere can't find an answer. Might be we're going to get CFO just for sure?
