The Hitler parodies. I used to wet myself laughing at them.

Actually Hitler had a love for Liverpool. He actually stayed there for a while. Rumour has it that once he had taken Britain he planned to make Liverpool his HQ. :D

Why would Lancashire remind you of me? I am in Liverpool and Liverpool is on the eastern side of the Mersey Estuary, and historically lay within the ancient hundred of West Derby in the southwest of the county of Lancashire. It became a borough in 1207 and a city in 1880. In 1889, it became a county borough independent of Lancashire.

    Yes 1889

I also take great exception regardless of how tenuous the link being mentioned in the same post as Hitler!

I thought it rather better applied to me because I am in Lancashire, and I'm here involuntarily as the result of the collapse of my business :D But Adolf would have to have been lamenting not getting to Scotland or Lanarkshire then ;) :D

Years ago I was working in Liverpool Bay and was working with a guy from Liverpool. It was he that told me about the connection between Liverpool and Hitler. It seems that it might only be a tenuous link as seen in the YouTube video but there are some that remain convinced he had spent some time there himself and not just his relatives. Who knows, but it seems the story won’t go away.

Its a myth based on comments by his sister Bridget (i think that was her name) that he was here in 1912 to 1913 for about 5 months by all accounts one of the reasons he was meant to be here was that he was in hiding so he didnt have to do national service!
Hitler also had a half brother called Alois (jnr) Adolfs father was Alois snr and young Alois was the Liverpool visitor and the rumours mushroomed.
As you say its a story that wont go away
