It's that time of year agaiin and I am planning a parcel to send to Rizza, and also planning the inevitable "tax" that Rizza will need to pay once she has received the items.. One of these items is a Gold, Silver, Diamond neclace. Nothing too expensive, costs about £40 but I am sure the authorities in Cebu will like to add their own price tag to it:frust:

    Or would they?

Has anyone here sent similar items back to their mahal??? :erm:

    In short................. No...........:erm:

But in the past, I did send Jet a small post office parcel, with a couple of Sony Ericsson mobile phones, and to reach the minimum weight sweets, chocolate and assorted other tooth decaying stuff...:drama:
I was worried all the time the darn package was in transit, as the tracking got lost once the box left the UK.
So for a few weeks I didn't know if Jet was finally going to get the box, or it would be nicked by the posties or customs officers...
In the end it did get there, and there was nothing to pay extra.... Maybe because I marked it as assorted confectionery...???:erm:

I would be a bit dubious about sending something like that even low value items.

Remember there is not such thing as a truly low value item in the Phils.

My friends business used to send things like hard drives from the UK to the Phils, not expensive ones and half of them never arrived.

Yep as Dom says a high class service, they will rob you quickly ;)

Just joking, I think it all still gets checked in the phils, still lots of steps where an empty packet might arrive, but if it works let us know.

If you don't mind me asking how much are DHL going to charge you for that?

    I normally use these www.worldwide-parcelservices.co.uk

    last time I sent a box (size 30cm 30cm 20cm) it cost about £45

I sent Jewelery but never put on the list just say there candy and clothes in box and put the value as £5 to keep the tax
which most of the time its been about 500pesos, one time they did not ad tax:)

Jewelery I sent was low cost will be taking something more expensive with me in December :)

Last time I used DHL it cost me £50 (roughly) and that was due to the size of the box and I had sent a few things with it that were not the sort of items I wanted to risk on Royal Mail:erm:
