Anyone been to Bohol recently? Can you recommend a good resort in the area? Will appreciate your input. Looking to make a quick Bohol trip for January. Can’t wait to be home, it’s been two years (almost). Where’s all the time gone?
Never been there Glenn so I can't help with this one, Boots should be able to help, but I hope you find somewhere and it's good to hear you are getting a chance to go home for a wee while
Hi Glenn I'm always a little reluctant to recommend places as different people can have a different experience. We stayed at Panglao Regents Park Resort. It was fine, nice big clean rooms, good aircon. Lovely pool and decent restaurant. Walking distance to the beach.

How long are you staying in Bohol Glenn? Had a nice time doing the touristy bits of Loboc floating resto, tarsiers and Choccy hills. All achievable in a day and well worth it. Also dropped in on Bohol bee farm on the way home which had fantastic views from their restaraunt.
Planning to go for 3 days over Friday Saturday and Sunday. What you did sounds fun, may I ask, location wise, are they fairly near to each other? Would love to do all them.
If you go on an organized tour ,(one day ) they will take to the Butterfly sanctuary, Tarsiers sanctuary , Chocolate hills, Baclayon Church , and do the Loboc River cruise with lunch included . You will also drive through the man made forest , and stop at the Blood Compact memorial . Depending on the time , you may visit other attractions , like the hanging bridge . You could probably do it yourself , by car or scooter , but if you book through an agent , you can usually get a good deal on a tour , with no hassle driving . The only drawback of the tour , is you only have a certain amount of time at each attraction, so they can fit them all in . There are lots of things to do and see on Bohol , and Alona Beach is a nice place to stay ,although a bit touristy , but a nice range of hotels , from budget to luxury .
Never stayed in a resort here so impossible to give honest review.. Friends of mine often send their visiting relatives and friends to the Lost Horizon resort on Alona beach.. Other friends with better budgets book at the Hennan in Alona or the Bellevue in Doljo. If you list your minimum requirements it`s much easier to eliminate inappropriate resorts.. Nr the beach only or is inland OK? Has to be in Alona or anywhere in Panglao or Dauis OK? etc etc
Panglao Island. Panglao is an island in the north Bohol Sea, located in the Central Visayas region of the Visayas island group, in the south-central Philippines.
The one we was going to recommend is having work done. So avoid this one. Bohol Beach Club. So many nice ones on Panglao.
I've stayed at Lost Horizon in the past, nice enough. Rooms are clean and it's a good location. Aside from the previously mentioned things to do, I'd also suggest a trip to Balicasag Island that stops at the virgin island sandbar, weather permitting. Enjoy!
When you go to chocolate hills at the bottom of the road up to the viewpoint there is a quad biking outdoor persuit place, great fun if you like that kind of thing.
You can do Chocolate Hills, Tarsiers, Butterfly Farm, and Ati tribe in 1 day. Our resort booked it all and we went by mini bus from there. On another day, we went out on a boat trip and snorkelled with the big turtles. Lunch on one of the islands, where you get inundated with local girls selling their nicknacks. Great days out, lots of memories.
@OTT covered it in his post. We were approached by lots of guys at Tagbilaran port offering a guided tour in their brand new cars. One of them took us to Alona. You will fit them all in easily as most are en-route to Carmen (Chocolate Hills). I did it all on a moped/scooter and it was great fun.
