    So here I am again.

And once again travelators broken at Manchester

The first one on the way to the A gates worked.

    The second closed

Fortunately I didn't feel like I was dying on the half kilometer trek to the gate as I'm not wearing my backpack it's on a trolley cabin bag :) (second pic)

For the first time in three years I didn't feel seriously stressed getting to the gate I was fine when I walked to A9 quite briskly.

MAN->AMS then AMS->CDG then CDG->MNL I have a long day ahead of me.

Ive resolved it thanks withh a bit of google digging! it was about knowing you only had one flight ticket covering 2 outward flights changing from International flight to domestic and having to collect hold baggage stuff like that have a great flight and break.

    Grand!

I didn't sleep last night and I've done two flights already today, fell asleep during the meal service on the second flight but woke up early enough that the lassie came back. Food on first flight was amazing they served a side of sweet peppers with a milk cream filling but it was really spicy, amazing.

Air France food was always good when I used to fly a lot to ex-French colonies in West Africa.
    A cut above the rest.
CDG airport was good back in the day.
Have a safe journey and a good trip to Phils, Jim :like:

Initially I was looking at flying from Manchester or Birmingham but decided to just go from Heathrow.
I'll just go for a train or coach to the airport.

I'll be flying Saudi Air in June and I got it for only £600.

I was being quoted £750 and up for tickets from Manchester and Birmingham for some reason.

I don't know why it's more expensive. lol

I didn't read your post properly last night, I had that issue, kind of, at Amsterdam I had to transit from Non-Schengen to Schengen for the second flight to Charles de Gaulle took about 10 minutes for the passport check as I was entering the EU and got my passport stamped, then at CDG at the north eastern corner of terminal 2F it's an EU exit stamp to transit to terminal 2E Non-Schengen side, first time I've ever had to do this and the first time ever that I've had European stamps in my passport. No baggage reclaim as all bags checked all the way through to Manila, luckily both bags arrived at Manila intact I was worried about the connections.

You may of read it prior to me editing the post so did read it right!
We are flying Manchester to Las Vegas late April the flight home is direct LV to Manchester, no issues there, the outward is Manchester to Atlanta (Virgin Atlantic) then Atlanta to LV Delta Airlines.
A forum I have joined just for tips etc on visiting LV and also Virgin's website suggest that you have at Atlanta reclaim your hold baggage and the and go through Atlanta security and check in with Delta because we are flying International then domestic.
However again on Virgin but not on the forum it says the exception to the above is if you have only one ticket which I think we do as we booked the journey as a whole,it also says the rule on international to domestic if you are flying with one of Virgin's trusted partners.
That's as far as I got however on further digging Virgin say this
    copied off their website
If you have been issued a single ticket and are flying with us or on one of our trusted partners (including Air France – KLM and Delta)
Great news! Your bag will be automatically transferred to your connecting flight, except in the United States, where you will need to pick them up at baggage claim at your first point of arrival in the US. Give yourself some extra time to do this.

This prompted my original question but I think I have got it !

I see, yes bags on flights with partner airlines will usually be checked straight through, I think if you are able to make a single booking with an airline that you will get informed if you have to actually transit by entering a country and do the baggage retrieval, I was concerned about that myself as the instructions on KLM's website were not as clear as they normally are, my main worry for me was just the connections and timing and being sure that my bags followed me properly, I've had baggage problems twice in 20 years and in both cases the bags followed on a few days later but it is a pain when that happens.

An extra connection probably or just the fact that it's further to travel allbeit by a small amount.

It was big, arrived at 2F gate 32, so that is close to as far away from where I needed to get to could be, long walk to Terminal 2F border passport control got through that check pretty quickly which was good, faster than through the Amseterdam Non-Schengen to Schengen check.

Another long walk over the bridge to Terminal 2E to get to pier L gate 46

    And finally into the lounge.

Lounge was average the Non-schengen KLM lounge in Schiphol is much nicer but the Air france Premier thing serves real Champagne wheras KLM serve Cava, the lounge was no bad and the food was quite nice it was good enought to sit in for a couple of hours, it was night time, so not much of a view outside.

    And finally the gate L46

The gate was efficient but they had started boarding earlier than I expected.

I would do it again, the service on both KLM and Air France flights was excellent, and I managed to cope with the walk through the terminal better than I have in recent years with the help of my small 4 wheeler carry on bag, that really helped this time.

CDG well I didn't really have enough time to explore this trip but maybe next time I'll wander around a little as at least I know the lay of the land a bit now.

On board and a nice seat on an A350-900, the next flight leg when I return qualifies me for Flying Blue Gold again for the first time in about 13 years and that will get me access to the lounges for free for the following 12 months looking forward to that later this year.

One thing I didn't like abou the A350-900 is that the toilets are on the far side of the galley right behind the cockpit and there was only one loo, even though there were two indicators.
