    Question...out of curiosity
If i.was.to rent my own place now.and then submit application in around may...I could put the ladies name on the tenancy? And then I'd have accomodation?

If you rent through an agency then they will charge you a fee, and will do a credit reference search on all tenants. some will add some won’t until any renewal date, if you rent privately then most often a landlord won’t have a problem adding a name especially if you pay your rent on time.

Daveyw1988@ Here is a sample Lodger agreement which you could use for your Grandads place https://form.jotformeu.com/71053770625353 , Also get a letter from your grandad stating its not overcrowded, and he has no problem with you and your wife living there, then any documentation with your name and address on ie your ISA, Bank statements etc etc then you just make sure that you are on the electoral role, that will be the first place that the decision making officer will check to make sure that you live where you say you do, That will be far easier than moving yourself to new accomodation, however its entirely up to you which way you go.
I take it that you have already met your wife to be, and have proof of your meetings, plus the english test, the TB test, and all the other relevant documentation, Im not being nosey its just that you have only mentioned accomodation in "Hardest parts of a Fiancee visa" for some of us accomodation may well be the easiest part of the whole process ;). You may find this guide helpful https://www.migrate.org.uk/fiance-visa-uk-2018/.

The difficulty here is that your grandad is not the landlord..he is a tenant...of a council property. So you will need permission..in writing..for your future partner to lawfully occupy it...which I doubt very much you will get. So much simpler and easier for you to rent your own place..in both your names..nearer to the time she makes her visa application.

If you look at the heading and then the text below you will note it's an occupancy agreement and not a tenant agreement so it looks like a form of subletting that no council will allow.
What the council are protecting themselves against is potential sitting tenants at the end of somebody else's tenancy agreement they are also duty bound to protect against potential recourse to public funding which your wife would not be permitted to obtain. So no it will not do you need to be the tenant

I could not get a letter from council, saying my wife and son could live with me,they said they do not get involved with immigration issues,so I just wrote a letter saying council do not get involved with immigration and i got a house inspection done,as only had a 1 bedroom flat, also showed my council tax with my name on it and it got approved as wife and son been here 2 years now,it's just some councils do not like to get involved, also sent my tenancy agreement.

yes--but you are the tenant. @Daveyw1988 is simply a lodger living with his grandad...his council may not even be aware of that..unless he is also named on the tenancy.

you can try--but dont be surprised if they wont !

look at it this way--suppose council said ok--your fiancee gets visa--comes over--you get married. in the following 5 years--grandad passes away--you 2 fall out and you move out. the council is then stuck with a tenant they hadnt expected.

He’s not a tenant though. He would have to rent somewhere.

Yeh seems like easiest is to find an apartment for a few months I guess....this only problem I think I’ll have really...getting a property and her name on...so easier private rent and then I can put her name on it aswell

her name doesnt have to be on it,if you are the tenant and its a private landlord get the landlord to write you a letter stating he is happy for your GF/wife to live there, by doing it in just your name thats where the credit checks will sit solely in your name. When GF/Wife is here then think about putting her name on the tenancy

Example of e mail supplied for our FLR2 from our letting agency

Don’t use a ring binder, or staples or paper clips or plastic sleeves. Start with a contents list at the front of the bundle and use dividers to each category you have in your bundle. Use a large envelope for sending and be sure to include a stamp addressed envelope for return of your documents.
