Yes it is, all the NI number does is tell the employer what deductions to make.
Therefore if she starts a job without being able to provide her number her stoppages will be on emergency codes and adjusted once she gets her number.

It states on my wifes letter eligible to work without ni number..yeh...so...we have been looking for jobs for her to apply etc online... And most jobs its stating... Need provide an ni number to Continue the application... So.. Her visas 2 months in... And still no work.. And they keep changing date when ni number center opens...bit of a **** show the lot really..

Key in fictious number and explain to employer.
